C55 Estate/station wagon
Any help would be appreciated.
The C55 Estate is everything the C55 Saloon is, except it uses marginally more fuel and is marginally slower in acceleration (0.2 second difference in the sprint to 100km/h, according to Mercedes AMG). If you like the C-class Estate shape and increased trunk capacity, go for it!! It's main compeititor is the Audi S4 Avant. The RS4 Avant, however, will blow the C55 Estate away in terms of performance.
Edit: One thing the C55 Estate has is a bigger stabilizer on the rear axle than the C55 Saloon.

That was my first choice for our second car (planning on a family etc. well that's my justification, though the SO wouldn't have a bar of it - why is it women hate wagons but men don't?) - but was told by MB Australia that they don't import the C55 Estate only the E55 Estate (not that that's a bad thing, just need to get another AU$50k!)...
So we are now looking at maybe one of the following:
1. Audi S4 Avant (would love the RS4 Avant, but we need an auto)
2. MB C230 Estate (Avanteguard + Sport Pack)
3. Suburu Liberty GT or 3.0 RB Spec

What is this car? Similar to a U.S. Legacy? Do you have a link with specs? Subaru making some great cars these days but wouldn't be surprised if we in the U.S. still on the short end of the stick when it comes to their most interesting models.
If anyone has the ability to create a Japanese AMG-beater, it's Subaru.
