Thanks
BMJDevelopment,
Thanks, I didn't even think about the overhead area. Two other questions:
1) Is it the same wire for the C32?
2) Is the V1 cord, just a phone cord??
Thanks,
George.

Out of coincidence, I just hardwired my V1 today. The photo was identical to my car. Man, that made it a lot cleaner than having to run a wire along my apilar!

SS, there are two clips in the back (closest to the rear seat). You can carefully slide a flat tip screw driver in there and you'll feel them. You really only need to get one pryed down, then you can pull and peek and find the second. Once the two clips are unpopped, the whole thing drops down.
I mounted it using the visor clip, not the suction cups
It is too dark to take pics tonight, but if you still need them tomorrow, I can provide them.

Thanks
I have mine mounted about 2-3" below the rear view mirror in the center of the windshield. I would like to put it a little higher, but I think the rear detector get blocked by the slop of the roof line. Have you noticed any difference in performance with having yours so high??
Thanks and pics would be great. I am installing mine this weekend.

Just completed
All,
I must got done hardwaring the V1 and it was very straight forward thanks to the link attached a few posts up!
I had a couple of things that I wanted to add to the installation process.
First, I used the 10mm bolt attached just to the left of the opening. I verified a good ground with it, but you will need to attach a new connection piece to the V1 supplied hardwire ground line since the diameter of the bolt is bigger than that of the connector. I cut about 10" off the ground line and re-attached a larger connector.
I also cut about 15" off the red wire in order to clean up the installation and have less wire to "stuff".
Next, I verified with Valentine that a standard phone cord is acceptable. They indicated that the cord must be a 4 conductor, RJ-11 cord. I bought a 2 foot, straight cord from Radio Shack for a couple of bucks (part # 279-346 in silver, only color they had, but matches the car!).
Finally, if you use the clamp on wire splicer supplied with your V1 hardwire kit, you will most likely have to squeeze the splicer prongs together in order to actually hit wire when connected. Otherwise if you are going to Radio Shack get a couple of smaller gauged connectors to ensure a good connection.
I am attaching pictures which are purely supplemental to those in the other post. This had to be the easiest hardwire I have ever done. Thanks much for all the posts and pictures.
