Expensive to maintain a C55?

I previously owned bmws and audis, and the dealer pretty much maintained my cars for free as long as the car was under warrenty (oil, filter, brake pads). same for MB?
If not, How much do they usually charge for an oil change (i figure it would be alot.. since its a V8)?

Thank you in Adv.

Haha, there is no direct correlation between the number of cylinders your car has and the price of the oil change.

Unfortunately, service is not free for these cars like it is for Audi or Bmw. Depending on the service, they usually cost around ~$300. An oil change alone will cost around ~$100.

IMO, this is a deminimus amount if you are spending $60,000 on a car...

I figure more oil u use = more money u gotta spend..
I used top of the line oil (amsoil, royal purple, idemitsu etc) on my previous cars (93 rx7 450rwhp, supra 500rwhp, Audi A4, BMW Z3) and 2-3 more qt can add up

thanks guyz

My first A Type oil change at 10,000 miles was around $280. The next one which is due now will be somewhat larger I am expecting -- maybe around $400.

Just an oil change costs about $65 at my dealer, including Mobil 1 and filter. The additional charges that are reported above are for A and B service including oil/filter changes.

Just as a sidenote, always go to the dealer even to have smallest things done (e.g. oil change). I recently went to a Mobil Express Lube Center thinking that they would be perfectly capable of servicing my vehicle. Of course I was totally wrong. Besides putting the wrong weight of oil in my C55, they didn't insert the drain plug correctly and consequently there was slight drainage. On top of that, they completely overfilled the oil. Just my $0.02 based on my my experiences...

I never go to a dealer for wheel balancing / alignment. Always go to an independent shop. IMO, they do better jobs.

It's kind of hit or miss IMO. You might find a guy at an independent shop who does an excellent job and really knows what he is doing, but on the other hand, you could have some guy working on your car who normally works on Fords or Chevys and is not familiar with Mercedes and really screws things up. And yes, I'm speaking from experience, when I ordered new tires for my C43 a couple of years of ago I brought it to an independent shop to do the install. Immediately after driving, I had the worst pull to the right. I went back to those guys a number of times, but it was like spinning wheels, they could not solve the problem, I ended wasting a lot of time and money.

According to a Mercedes specialist who later alleviated the issue, he said that our cars are very different than a Ford or a Chevy and much more complex to do alignments on than the standard car. Subsequently, I am a little reluctant have any independent shop do alignment and balancing work on my car.

Could be right... rule of thumb for finding good independent shop... find ones w/ lots of mercedes and other high-end cars on the parking lot and specialized in (selling) high-end wheels

I don't think i can really trust indep tire stores..

3500miles left for Type B service.. Just called the dealership and they are asking $500... That includes Oil change + replacing wiper blades + changing a/c filter + inspection and resetting inspection meter... ...
THat's a little stiff isn't it?

Wheel aligment = $80..

Yeah, that definitely sounds like it's on the high end.
