C32 AMG parts identification
Problem is, apart from some obvious ones, I don't have any idea what most of the parts are! All the parts have the part numbers imprinted or on labels. Is there any website (or other resource) I can go to, enter the part number, and get an explanation of the part?
Thanks for you help!
The other option is to purchase the WIS/ASRA software from ebay or download the file from the internet. The software is basically a technical service manual / parts ID software for your car. It can save you thousands of dollars, given the greedy (and inept) nature of Atlanta MB dealers.
If you need any help, I'm in Atlanta too, and will be glad to give a fellow C32 owner a hand.
I will try looking for that software on filemirror or other such sites. I agree with you re: the ineptitude of the ATL dealers. Just last week, had work done to my car and they neglected to reconnect several sensors (and then had the b@lls to tell me that I needed to wait 3 days for them to see me to correct their mistakes!). I'm definitely going to start going to a non-dealer workshop to get anything else done. Have you ever dealt with Revolution on Dekalk Industrial? (from their website, they appear to be fairly professional looking). Also, if you have modifications to your C32, I would be interested to find out where in ATL you got them done. Thanks - Patrick.
Revolution is OK but you're on the right track in staying away from the big names. RBM of Atlanta used my c32 to go on lunch runs. I found ketchup, fries, and a receipt in the back. Sad because I don't even drink water in my car.
If you're even slightly mechanically inclined, working on the car is a breeze. If you don't have the time, place, etc, find a good tech at Revolution and insist that only he/she works on your on baby.
Oh, and unlike other cars, the benz will need a repair budget, which is separate from maintenance, fuel, and mods. =D
So far I've spent most of my mod budget on repairs. I did buy a set of SLK55 AMG wheels and tires recently. Next mod is to repair the control arm bushings, intercooler pump, rear electric sun shade, and COMAND Nav unit.
If nothing breaks after that, I'll buy the Kleeman kit from Revolution.
here's a few of these parts - I have no use for them:
203 830 32 03
203 545 02 03
210 820 57 10
0003 02263 12 1334 6 (x2)
A 203 800 11 15
A 203 810 14 17
203 628 14 69
Granted, they're probably not worth anything, but anyone who wants them (look at the photo) can have 'em for free.

Once in a while we get out west - I think we will be in San Fran in April of next year. Unfortunately, I have a job and it's hard for me to tour for too long!
