LOW Power C32 ???? Please help...

I just dynoed my C32 and the graph showed a max power output of 276 whp.

This number seems way too low for me, but I'm not an expert.

Does anybody know what is the average whp for C32?

Here is my reasoning:

If Mercedes-Benz claims 350 at the crank
and
I get 276 at the wheels
Then one of the following HAS to be true:

1) I have drivetrain loss of 21.2% (kind of high)
OR
2) My car produces ONLY 337 hp at the crank (assuming 18% drivetrain loss)

Is this normal?
Could my car maybe limiting the power some how?
Please shed some light on the subject if you can...

Thanks,

276Whp may seem low, but it is not out of the range of what others have dyno'd at. Some are up around 293Whp.

What brand of dyno was it?
How hot was it that day?

The machine was a dynojet

It was about 79 Fahrenheit the day of the dyno (roughly)

Here is the graph...

276 is not that unreasonable - I think 285 or so is the average, so figure in that realm given altitude, temp, dyno, etc...

you are going to have to give us more info on the car...

first, is it stock? if not, what are the mods?

give us the humidity, altitude, temp was 79 degrees?

was it in dyno mode? may seem like a dumb question, but people do dyno the car otherwise...

what is the correction factor? what method is used?

if you can answer these questions, we can probably get a better idea of what is going on...

you are not that bad..

different dyno, different conditions, ect...

It is hard to to really determine how much power you really have. The only thing you can do is, get some engine mods and use your baseline dyno to improve your numbers.

Start with a ASP pulley for the best bang for the buck.

If money is not a problem, Renntech, Kleemann or EVOSPORT would be my next call.

I would not be worried about 10RWHP.

What is dyno mode?

I'm not sure if the car was in dyno mode or not, but the dyno was done by evosport, and I'm sure they know what they are doing and probably had it in dyno mode.

I'm having FULL Stage I and II done, and will probably get another dyno after everything is finalized.

Most of the stock C32 I've seen averaged 285 rwhp, but there is one stock one that I've seen that did 297 rwhp.

So I guess my car is about 15 rwhp or so below average...

Unless anything else could be causing this slight drop???

Here is his graph. Not a bad starting point at all. Wait until you Dyno that monster after the Stage II install.

There are numerous things that I would look at if you are worried that this number is too low. How long have you had the car? How many miles on it? Has the air filter been changed recently? If not, maybe it's dirty. Where did you get your gas from? Did you use Premium unleaded? Some of this might sound silly, but I had the same issue when I first purchased my M3. The car did not Dyno to par and I was worried. A fellow board member asked me the same questions and it turned out the the airfilter was REALLY dirty and from what the dealer told me, the car had gas that was 6 months old in it. After I changed the filter and gas, I was in the same bracket as everyone else.
