It should right? - I mean it's basically just two wires going to the rotor and when they wear enough that both of them touch, it closes a circuit and the light comes on. I would also think that there would be no reset procedure when the computer thinks you put a new sensor in. You should wait for someone more qualified than myself to give you and answer, but having just done a brake job, I infer that's how it works.

thanks. appreciate the input. i ask, cause on the front end i have a sensor.. and on the rear i dont have one right now. and the light is coming on sometimes.. so i am trying to figure out what is causing the light. I am not sure cause both ends needs pads.

You've got wires touching somewhere, perhaps a short in one of the sensors, or frayed wires prior to one of the sensors. You could always disconnect all the sensors or just get 4 new ones when you buy new pads.
I would get new sensors. Cheaper to replace pads than it is to replace rotors.
