Hang on guys, I’m still waiting to get my last question answered by AMG.
I’ve contacted Mr.Vanos and he has approved a group buy on this, so depending on AMG response, I hope I’ll be able to get it arranged by mid-week.
Please check the Group Purchases & Supporting Vendor/Sponsor Specials forum every now and then. Thanks.

360_iti: any news from AMG? They are sure slow to answer my emails, but remember half of Germany is probably on holiday (as they call it) this time of year.

Prsmith, how was your trip to AMG ?
The last time I heard from them was 07/28. I've sent two emails since then and still haven't got any answer.
My question to them was just compatibility and I also asked for something else that they might have (see picture). I might have to try a different person. Do you know someone else over there that might be able to help us ?

trip to AMG? Well, I was so excited to get my car that I drove straight from the Mercedes pick up sight an hour to AMG. I used the NAV which was a Godsend and just as I drove into the driveway and saw a whole bunch of AMG vehicles in the parking lot I remembered that I was supposed to stop off at the car shipping place back in Stuttgart. Well it was nearly 3 at that point and I HAD to go back that day to get the paperwork in by 5 or the car wouldnt be shipping home. So I had to turn around and leave AMG.

Oh well. Maybe next time.

Ill have to check for other emails when I get home from work.

Sorry to hear this.

I just completed an order from Frank for a few items from AMG and it was a nightmare to get it done. They made an exception for me because I was originally supposed to be at the AMG shop to pick up the items and have the car there from Euro Delivery. But I didnt make it, as you know, so they followed through anyway. It took several weeks of emailing to get it done and they made it clear that it was an exception.

Please find out who this boss of Franks is. If I can get a name, I can post your experience and mine at the AMG private lounge website and try to get a better idea on how to order from AMG in the future. THere has been discussion over there on improving this process, but as I see it now, it SUCKS.

Daniel had never said anything about this issue. I specifically explained to him since the beginning that I was just a customer, not a dealer, and he seemed to be OK with that. Then he went on vacation and I've never heard anything from him. Looks like this Frank guy and his boss don't really want to deal with US customers and just simply gave us some BS excuses.

Daniel is coming back from vacation this coming monday. I have another order that is pending with him. I hope to hear from him early next week.
Lets hope he will be more reasonable.

Is it your understanding the Daniel is Frank's boss? That wouldnt make sense, since Daniel has been out of touch for the past couple of weeks on holiday. Something isnt right.

Have you guys checked with Steve to see if he can source these parts from AMG? I would think he has a little bit more pull than any of us.

I think Daniel is Frank's boss, but since he's on vacation, Frank had to ask a different boss and was told not to deal with us. Prsmith would you mind following up with Daniel regarding the shift knob ? I will be in the boonies with limited access to the internet for the next two weeks. Thanks.

No I haven't. I'll talk with my dealer first since they're more accessible.

Sorry to bring this post "back from the dead", but I was wondering if anyone has made any ground in in obtaining this shift knob? I've been looking to get one since the thread first started but I guess it was forgotten and there was no follow-up. Anyone have any addition information about this that hasn't been covered yet?

AMG finally said they wouldn't sell it to end customers. And I was under the impression that even my dealer couldn't obtain it either since I haven't heard anything from them. Sorry for the bad news.

Thanks for trying 360, that is the coolest shift knob ever. I too have found my local dealer to be clueless on such things and I'm actually surprised when they correctly spell AMG.

Go Nugs & Avs (CO native here).
