Advice re 2002-03-04 C32 to purchase (jerking problem fixed when?)
I am looking at purchasing a C32 and could go with a lesser priced 2002 with more miles, or a lower mile 2004. Read that early models (prior to late 2003?) had problems with "jerking" or ecu problems? Were these problems fixed by the late 2003 or 2004 models? Just wondering if it's worth the extra $$ to get a late model 2003 or 2004. Thanks for the advice.
Also, anyone have good experience with installing the Kleeman Performance Kit (Stage I - pulley, ecu) vs. the Renntech Stage I. The sticky "best 1/4 mile times" look like most go with Renntech, but I've got a Kleeman authorized supplier/dealer within 5 minutes, so I'd prefer to go with them. Anyone install and like the Kleeman kit - and/or 1/4 mile times with that unit? Thanks.

Black 2002 C32 AMG
I have a 02 and it jerks but I got it with an extended warranty so its at the dealer now. My buddy has a 03 with no jerking issues. We did a Evosport pulley / header install today and if you have the right tools / skills its a 6 on a scale of 1-10.

I have had the Jerk problem and it appears to have been fixed last week. Check out this thread, post #48, I believe. I explained what was done to fix it.

I really believe the real fix is just upgrading the TCU/ECU to the 2003 software. That seems to be the most consistent solution. Other than that, I'm not so sure the 03's or 04's are that much better to warrant the additional cost.
By the way, is the user name because you own or breed those dogs?
