Service B in 300 miles
Being somewhat of a DIYer, I feel I can do the glorified $500 oil change.
I have purchsed the dust filter and wipers on my own, a simple install.
I have topped off the coolant. I will be doing the oil change. Done it before, not difficult.
Leaves me with topping off power steer, brake inspect and battery check.
I noticed my power steer is slightly below min on hot and cold test via the dipstick. Car has ~19K miles, 2 yrs old in November. Should I just add and then check in a few weeks to see if it is low again before assuming leakage?
Is it necessary to brake fluid flush? If my brake pads are still trouble free I do not see the flush as a necessary service at this time. Is this a correct assumption?
Lastly, I notice 6 caps on the battery. Do I open each and make sure level is just under the bottom of the screw cap neck? Just add distilled H2O.
Am I missing anything?

$500.. That's ridiculous huh?
Yea, you could save alot by DIY.
Flushing brake system would be an overkill imo...
other than that, you are on right track.. Are you planning on driving ur car w/o resetting service meter? THat is my main concern.. For my old BMW, i had this computer thingy but I'm not sure about Merc..

If you cycle to the mileage window which displays mileage to next service while key is in position 2, just hold down the reset button for a while , a messsage will come up that will prompt you to hold the reset button again to reset the service interval. That simple.

Sweet..few more questions.. If you don't get serviced by MB dealer, that won't effect our warrenty right?
also.. I see that you have K&N filter and u removed your resonator..
Do you feel any differences in power / response?
I've been told to stay away from K&N because it can mess up our AFM.
Do you have a sound clip of your car? perhaps a short footage?
thanks

definite low end response 1000-3000 RPMs and it is much louder--nice roar at WOT
I do not have a sound clip, however there is one floating around if you do a search.
It will not void your warranty by not using a MB dealership for service intervals.

Brake Fluid Flush
Skipping the brake fluid flush may be false economy. Depending on where you live and how old the car is, it may be pretty important. The more rain and humidity the car has been in, the more water your brake fluid will have absorbed. That water will corrode the master cylinder and pistons, pit the light metal parts of the calipers and generally gum up the works. Water in the brake fluid also reduces the brake system's effectiveness, especially under stress (lowers the boiling point). Certainly never go more than two years.
