A little help with a radar/laser detector ? what one should I get.
Hey guys I want to get a radar/laser detector, any recommendation and is it better to get a built in one or the one that attaches to the windshield, I want something good so I can see these dam cops, because here they are getting really good at hiding and a lot of crazy
under cover cops, so I want to have the edge, is there a radar/laser detector that also comes with a gamer, because they cant give me a ticket for something that they cant find.
So can you guys please recommend a radar/laser detector with or without a gamer? What’s better the build in one or the one on the windshield…. And how deep should I be reaching in my pocked????

Call Valentine Research at 1 800 331 3030 and ask for a returned V1 and you will get 10% off the retail price of $399. It will be the latest version V1.8 POP2 w/ Euro-mode and 3.856 firmware and that comes with all the accessories and a 1 year warranty.

In regards to these things, since having one on my used C55 I got. It's just annoying or maybe I just hate the beeping beeping beeping sounds coming from it. I never had a radar dector before so could be biased to it. I also never got a speeding ticket because I alway speed when there's traffic and keep it on par with speed limit when by my self.

Man its crazy here in Canada, I run the highway all the time and if there are 2 cars going the same speed close to one other the cop usually give the ticket to the more $$$ car, or they give a ticket to both, going at the speed of traffic don’t really work too well and I have a heavy foot, I run my car to its extent and back almost every day unless the gas prices is through the roof. So a gamer or a really good radar is a need for me, the beep sound I’m quite use to it and my last bel radar has saved me from like 8-10 tickets for sure, so it has paid it self off easily. So a new one once again is a must. but more or less i want one that is built in, i like this K40 because is built in and has a remote soo i can mute it. but not too sure of its performance and how good it would work?

sorry maden, gamer is Jamer? I just wanted to make a clarification, it kept bugging me when I read your posts. I get this weird picture in my head of someone doing 100 down the highway and trying to be a gamer. lol...sorry

Jamers are garbage for the most part along with the Rocky Mountain junk. The K40 is sub par as well. One of the best detectors out there is the V1. If you want something better than the V1 you are lookin at big money for a hard wired system with front and rear mounted sensors...

About 3 years back one of the big car mags had a radar detector shoot out. The results had Escort and V1 as the best picks. IIRC they liked the escort detecter because of it's simaler performance to the V1 but with better looks and a much better price. Unless they recently changed the V1 it is IMO a little old school looking, I suppose hard wiring would take care of that. I personaly have a Escort SOLO S2 (suprise, heh), which is a cordless detecter that is pitch black except one a singal is picked up, then it lights up and beeps.

Is @ Home
I had both V1 and Escort 8500. Both worked the same, the V1 was just a lil too sensitive for my taste. Got rid of the V1 because of its cost. Once you get a signal your gonna slow down anyways right regardless of the direction. Since I don't speed anymore I just sold the Passport.

K40's new calibre product bluetooth technology and is amazing. It is completely stealth and all you see is 2 LED lights (1front warning and 1 rear warning no messy wires hanging around or a big clunky v1 suction cupped to your glass. I have it in my clk55 and can get you a good deal on one if your interested.
PM me if your interested.

Not true. When Ka goes off and it is pointing forward, I slow down. When it changes to behind me, I know that I passed the cop on the other side of the freeway, so I can speed up again. I continue to pick up the Ka signal for some time even after passing the cop. If I didn't have the arrows, I wouldn't be able to resume

No detector or laser jammer in the world is gonna help you at anything past 120. You're pretty much going to jail if you get nabbed at those speeds, even without getting tagged by radar/laser
