Coolant Pump Failure Poll. Has yours failed? At what odometer reading? Model year?

Mine fail at 45,000miles.Got it replace at MB in Malaysia, but had to buy the IC in Singapore since i was travelling there. MB in Malaysia or even DC didn't had the stock, they told me it would take them 2weeks to order from MB in Germany. Its preety frustrating for me as C32 is a rare car in my country and MB's here don't really keep's the part's in stock.Due to the weather condition here(21° to 34° Celsius)The high humidity level is at 80% throughout the year.Driving here during the day time gets my car temp to about 90-95 degres. This at times makes the car losses power.Does anyone know any solution to have the heat reduce?
Scott, yes i was refering to Caliber Motors. Just wonder who your rep was? I live in the area, havn't seen you around

Yeah, I thought you were referring to that Caliber. No, I use MB of Laguna Niguel. Finally found a great SA that really cares about the work he does. You haven't seen me around because I hanging around in South OC.Originally Posted by N.M.M.

Replaced the pump on my 2002 C32 at 92,000 km (around 60k miles) last weekend with Ford Lightning pump (90$ ebay): easy as pie thanks to this forum, and a different car for a week. Today however, seems to be back to its old sluggish self..so I'll have to recheck for shorts, air in the system etc.
Had the car in many times under "warranty" for this issue, but nothing ever seems to be done by the dealers...the "if it ain't obviosly broken, do'nt touch it" approach.

OK, I'm sorry, but you know someone had to start with a "surrender" joke here. It was just too easy.
Hey Fatboyblue, I hope no offense was taken. Feel free to make an "ugly American" joke back at me. I can handle it.

Someone posted detailed instructions here. I think you'll need some basic electrical stuff . One DIY involved using female slide connectors on the ends of the Ford wiring and sliding them onto the Benz input.
I speak from complete ignorance, but I was wondering why you can't clip the plug off the Benz pump and splice it into the wiring for the Ford pump, and just plug-and-play.
PS: You should also have some coolant since you lose a bit when doing the swap.

thank you fifth ring. i have seen and bookmarked the instructions - hopefully it is an easy job for my mechanic. i will remember to get some coolant. any specific coolant i need for c32? lastly, speaking of the actual ford lightning coolant pump, is the one i listed correct? i am 99% sure it is, i just want to get some confirmation from others who have used it before i order it. thanks guys, and safe driving!

Mine failed at 22,800 Miles. Service mananger told me the part was recalled in a campaign a few years back. He called it the "Air Pump". Car runs like new , no one cuts me off anymore.

I have a 2003 C32 since new. My intercooler pump started fooling around around 40K miles. Been to the dealer twice, taking it for the 3rd time next week. Hopefully they'll replace the pump. Otherwise love the car, don't drive it in the winter here in NY state. I eat tires every 10K. Any suggestions for longer lasting rubber???

Intercooler pump replaced yesterday at 59,000 miles (2003 model).
Not had a proper run in it yet, but engine sounded a little louder than before - like a belt was rubbing. I'll see if it settles down, but in the meantime, anyone else notice the same after replacing the pump?
