I won a spot on the Paris to Beijing race. My leg is the fourth leg of the race, Kazakhstan to Lenzhou, China. I will drive the new C320 Diesel. Check out the race that will start on the 21st of October and run till the 17th of November. I understand that I have a fellow winner here in the US but I still don't know who he is. Check it out at the MBUSA sight, look under what's new on the left of the screen and scroll down to the Paris to Beijing E Class Experience. All I did to win was enter it one night that I was surfing around on the net and cruising on the MB sight. Then I got a phone interview, medical check and then I along with one other unknown guy were chosen out of 10 others that they had narrowed it down to. We're supposed to be driving 5 days across Central Asia, about 1,955 miles. I'M SOOOOO STOKED!!!!!! I leave on the 5th of November for Frankfurth then off to Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Does MB pay for everything? This sounds mighty cool!

Yes they're paying for everything. They told me all I needed was a little spending money. I'm telling you it's like a freakin dream.Originally Posted by MercedesFTW

Luckily I'm self-employed and can take time off to do this. This was one of MB's concerns during the final interviews before I was picked and l'm lucky enough to have an assistant that is pretty good at was she does.Originally Posted by the101dragons

You'll be able to see the whole race live on the website starting October 21. My part of the race will be the November 8th thru the 12th leg, Almaty, Kazakhstan to Lanzhou, China, just under 2,000 miles. We're recreating the longest race in the world of 1907.Originally Posted by SUPR C

Congratulations. That should be an awesome exerience. The borat movie comes out on November 3 so the people of Kazakhstan should be a little upset with America by the time you get there. Have fun. Don't forget to post pics.

True. The brit(Sacha Baron Cohen) is also a Jew. Kazakhstan has ran an ad campaign in the US because they feel their culture has been misrepresented. I'm on a blackberry so I don't know if this link will work: http://www.editorandpublisher.com/ea..._id=1003187151Originally Posted by Bif powell

I was on leg 3, (Car #31) 4, (Car #21) and 5 (Car #15).
Dwight Bonewell - my neighbor - was in Car #2 on Leg 1.
Enrique and I walked around in Langzhou. It was a blast. I was going to write an article for the Star and our local magazine, but have not had the time.
It was a blast.
It was nice to share brews and talk until the wee hours of the morning with the people behind the cars.
Enrique - send me an e-mail, MB folks from Germany have been in regular communication with me and a few others...
