If you have good case, you don't have to spend any $ while still driving your car till the case settle. If win, most of time u get ur full purchase $ back. If u lost, no $ spend. Only cost to you is time.

SUBJECT:
All Passenger Models Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Tires
Please be advised that the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (all-season) is not an approved (nor certified) Mercedes-Benz tire for any Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicle. Use of the above mentioned tire can cause vehicle tracking issues which MBUSA will not attempt to correct. MBUSA will not perform warranty wheel alignments on any subject vehicle which has any non-approved wheel/tire package installed. For any question as to approved wheel/tire packages please refer to WIS and EPC.
Note : This should not be mistaken for the Michelin Pilot Sport, which is approved for many Mercedes-Benz applications.

Bif, thank you very much for this extremely informative post. The list of TSBs is comprehensive and as a C32 owner, appreciate this information as it might come in handy one day. This thread should be sticky!

What is this about?
"This last time (must've been like the 5th time for this one issue) I took my car in for the so-called 'vibration at 40 mph' (no tsb that I've found for it), Sears Imports in Minnetonka Minnesota - the SA took me seriously and listened to my concerns and suggestions, but in the end they said, yeah it's your tires (on my third set of brand new, balanced and aligned with the same vibration)."
Do you still have the vibration?
How about this one?

Thanks!

Thank you very much for the post.
I too am getting sick of dealing with this car and the stealerships. I love the car when it's working properly, but it doesn't seem to work properly all that often.
I'm planning on bringing my car back to the dealer yet again. They supposedly fixed the I/C relay. Then they flashed the ECU and got stuck. They said it was broken and that I needed a new ECU. About $2K. Thanks to the community here I went back and complained. They magically got it to work after I complained that they fried my ECU.
Now after having the car back 3 days, the check engine light is back. As soon as I drove it off the dealer's lot, I noticed it ran rough and hesitated when accelerating hard. I tried the ECU reset (not the disconnecting of the battery) which worked momentarily and then threw up the CEL again.
I'm with you, I'll probably spend between $1Mil. to $2Mil. on cars in my lifetime too. This is not the way to treat someone with this much buying potential.

edit: If you're the kind of person who always "wants their 48 seconds back", I would just stop now. Forgot to tell this story about the seat-problem. When I first got the car, I went to lunch with a buddy and I'm talking about how he should check out the seat - it starts back so I can get in and out easier, and then moves everything to my prefered position - it's awesome! So I give him time to get in his seat, I climb in easily, and the seat starts to move forward...and keep going...and at first he looks impressed with the little pursed-lipped smile and slow, but pleasing nod, like "dude, you're so metal."
Then it's obvious that it's not going to stop...it's still going forward and I'm starting to have to tilt my head and bring my knees up...I'm like fumbling for the controls on the seat-bottom, only of course, they're NOT ON the seat, they're on the farking door, you idiot - I scramble/panic to get the controls as I eeeeeek, ever so slowly to the cieling and into the steering wheel...I'm still moving forward, looking for a way to escape out the sun-roof and I look over at my buddy whose smile turned into this evil ear-to-ear grin and in his deepest voice he goes "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die."

Cruise Control Inoperative
Date: December 30, 2004
Order No.: P-B-30.30/61
Supersedes:
Group: 30
SUBJECT:
All Passenger Models Cruise Control Inoperative
For Information Only!
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles where the cruise control disengages at highway speeds, but functions at lower speeds (~25 mph), ensure that a difference in tire circumference between the four tires due to un-uniform wear is not the cause. Additionally; ensure that all 4 tires equipped on the vehicle are identical in the following manner; tire manufacture, application (snow, all-season, performance, etc.), speed, and load ratings.
Note : Version/SCN coding should be considered, if the vehicle recently received a ME software flash or control module replacement.
If you receive reports in the above model vehicles of the cruise control disengaging, please ensure that the vehicle's ME control module is properly version/SCN coded.
