Also,

Take a look at the Whipple page for the new Mustang blower kit. At 10lbs/sqin, the HO IC version is putting out 475RWHP.

http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/...sp?ProdID=1208

They mention,

"For boost levels over 16lbs, a race belt system will be required."

Instead of using a belt clutch, they use a vacuum bypass, which is a lot easier to implement at high power levels.

I have been to the whipple facility, it's pretty nice. They have an engine dyno & chassis dyno & machine shop. If one could get their attention, they could do some interesting setups for the Mercedes, but they are too busy, with the boats and trucks.

No one is going to put together an upgraded blower kit for the C32. The C32 performance market is pretty much dead at this point.

what about a top mount aftercooler set-up that replaces the intake manifold.

why do folks bandy around torque numbers without quoting the rpm??

there's a linear relationship between torque and hp.

who cares if a car makes 500 ft lbs torque at 2000 rpm? i'd like that in a tractor yes. give me ~300ft lbs flat between 3500 to 8500 rpm and i will be verry happy.

Not too sure how to explain it I guess. But on my v6 accord I had a comptech s/c and it was a belt driven clutch type. An intercooler did not add hp and some actually lost. But an aftercooler allowed for 2psi extra boost and larger fuel injectors which brought whp from 300 to 350-370 #s varied in between. So i wasnt sure if we could do something similiar. Here are various pics the ones shown installed are not on my car but it is my kit that i recently sold.

That is a very well done setup for Accord.

Awhile back I had started fabricating very similar top mounted water/air intercoolers for C32. However, other projects and lack of interest stopped the design.

looks like a nice setup, but unfortunately an aftercooler setup will not work on our car...you could fab up a seperate intercooler reservoir and more efficient heat exchanger, which is what i am working on....
