Leather Armrest
Just ordered a leather armrest to replace the synthetic "rubbery" one (MB-Tex?). Was planning to get it customed upholstered but Oberklasse was able to find one. I'll post pix after the install.

I think the most needed interior addition to the C32 AMG is when you order your car with the Blue or Merlot interior, the door panels and a few other spots on the inside should be merlot aswell, not just the seat inserts.

btw the W209 CLk55 will have the door panel match the seat insert when order with the blue or merlot red insert.
i wonder what if our C32 has those leather wraped dash board like those on the SL55 and the M5

The E55, SLK32, etc. all have the matching inserts and other pieces everywhere. The C32 is the only car without it, I am most likely going to get a custom job to get the matching merlot door inserts.
Anyone know of any companies who specialize in this type of stuff?

I wonder if Brabus could send me everything, and I could have my dealership install it? I'll give them a call today.

lol, i'm not worried about the luxury of the interior that much in the C32, although just having the red merlot in one small area of the car just looks out of place. There needs to be more!

Not is it more luxurious, many of the high performance tuners use it. Suede/alcantara rocks.
Some places it is used:
- SL55 instrument surround
- Carlsoon interiors
- Kleemann interiors
- Audi S cars (S4, S6, S8)
- race cars (steering wheels)
I'd like to do it, but it is probably very costly.

Funny thing, Oberklasse says it is an OEM piece. If that is right, then I wonder why it wasn't included with our cars? Just humor me to reassure that i'm not too crazy. Our armrests are NOT leather, right?

Hmm, is it a European part? No, the thing is not leather in our cars. It must cost them a heck of a lot less that $185 so they should have included this from inception. I guess this is why the car is a c-class and not an s-class.

they should've made the AMG model standard with every options there are, so it's easier for us to buy.

Good idea Frank, infact i'm surprised they didn't do that because the germans consider us Americans too dumb to choose our own options, lol .

The C32 is the only AMG model not having the door inserts to match the two tone interior (CLK, SLK and E all have them). I think it is really cheap of Mercedes not to do the two tone door inserts. How much can Mercedes actually save by not doing it? It is not as if the existing black inserts don’t cost anything!!
I recently ordered a steering wheel from Brabus. Originally I would like the top half of the steering wheel to be in Merlot Red to match my interior (similar to those in the CLK55s and E55s). However, Brabus’ response was that they don’t stock this non-standard Mercedes color leather. And if I really want it, they would have to special order the Merlot leather from Mercedes. The piece of leather would be much bigger than what is needed for my steering wheel and would cost a lot as a result. So in the end I had to settle for a normal anthracite steering wheel. Maybe if enough people are asking for the Merlot leather, we could get it cheaper from Brabus.
BTW Boo2, can you tell me how to take off the armrest? I have examined it closely but could not figure out how. Do I have to take off the ventilation grill on the back? If so, how? Thanks.

Wood sucks! Especially in contact areas.
I had a wood shift knob on another car. The knob was clammy to the touch and did not have the assured grip of leather. Plus leather adapts with the weather unlike aluminum is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I'll stay with leather.
