Replacing C32 turn signal

Good afternoon. I have a 2002 C32, can someone help me how to replace the driver's side front left turn signal? I took out the bulb housing and thought the bulb was busted. I went to the dealership and was told the housing harness need to be replaced since there was a service bulletin on it. The bulb by the way was tested and it was working.

The problem is, the new replacement bulb housing has extra conduit/wire harness and the old did not have that. I don't know where to plug that harness/conduit. The right front passenger turn signal still works although I was told by the parts service guy to have both front turn signal bulb housing replaced as they have mentioned, MBenz has a service bulletin on it. It looks easy to replace I just don't know where that harness/wire/conduit gets plugged to. Please anyone who knows, please advice. Thank you.

i had this problem before I went with Bi xenon, on my old lights the bulb housing would arch and after a while it wont work anymore. I'm not sure what you are trying to replace but if its just the housing where the bulb plugs then thats easy if they gave you a new wire harness you have to open the lights. can you take a Picture of the new harness and I have my old lights out of the car. I can look at it and even take a picture if you want to make it easy for you

yes they are correct that the harness needs to be replaced because the contact point for the bulbs gets corroded (sp?)

the housing should've been the same.

2002 C32
Hello everyone,

I'm new to this site and a 1st time benz owner. Just bought myself a 2002 C32, with very low milege and got a great deal for it.

2 problem i have sofar with the car is turn signal is out on both side. and ticking noise on top of the dash. From what I read from this site its the stepping motors, which I will take care of that later since its gonna cost about $1.

I'm trying to fix the turn signals myself. Took the bulbs out and replace with new one, still didnt work. Use the info above from Bif, I bought 2 of the turn signal adapters from dealership $105 for the pair. I need help on disconnecting the wire from the main headlight harness. Is there a tool I can use to remove the wire from the harness? a pic of that tool will be nice.

thanks for any help in advance.

Great web site for research.

Thanks,
