very clean.. I like it.

I'm waiting to see how they are going to respond to the 335i sedan.

The 3.5L will not be enough at this point.

They will need to add a bigger motor or FI to keep up.

How about the possibility of the 4.5L as the top C class non AMG model?

I can't see them having a 268hp 3.5 and a 6.3 450hp AMG model. The gap will be to wide.

I would say.. Yes.

Unless they are planning to paint the roof black or use carbon fiber trim ala M6

But I'm pretty sure is PANO.

I think that it actually looks quite appealing. Much better than the previous pictures I've seen.

I think you are . I think the new s class is the hottest looking sedan on the market, even more impressive than the CLS IMO.. Styling the C to mimic the new S will make the new C a real winner..

Don't know too many Prius's with dual exhaust or a pano roof.. or power period.

thx for great pics
now, I am 50% sure I am getting one
just for the paranomic sunroof , I am happy.
( not to say a 6.3 engine in it be crazy ! )
the fogs reminded me those on the 2007 E-class facelift.
the rear fender reminded me the S class !

yes the S-class is the hottest sedan in it's class... but that has nothing to do with this C here. The pics might not be doing the car enough justice, but I'm not really impressed by what I see. I rather a car that has it's own personality, than one that looks like a cheap mini-version of another.

Hopefully the real thing will look better.. and hopefully AMG will put a bit more effort into styling the C-AMG this time.

quote from original article

"AMG’s 5.4-liter will be revised with new horsepower rating up from today’s 360, to 400-410bhp, to compete with the Audi RS4 and future BMW M3. Also a 3.0-liter diesel is planned, as well as the new iDrive-like operating concept found in the new S-Class. 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system will also remain available when the new model arrives."

uhhhh...i thought the 6.3 was being shoehorned in. this issue has waffled back and forth in other threads. half sorry to dredge it up.

I think I've liked the new C since some of the early renderings. Yes, it may look a bit like a mini S knock off, but if it sells a few boatloads, it's a good thing.

I will be launghing at the prius comparison as soon as we are looking at the real deal. No comparison.

I'd have to disagree with you on this one. Back in the early '82, when the original 190E (W201) was introduced, it was dubbed the "Baby Benz", not baby S. It bore no resemblence to the S of its day. The '84 W124 E was a dead ringer 190. The first "C" was closer to the E and have stayed that way till now.

The W203 has round headlights, patterned after the W210's of the mid 90's. The S never had the round eyeballs. Now the W204 is going away from the rounds and should, for the first time, look like a Baby S.

Looking at the Japanese desings, though history, you should be saying the Japanese are going European.

Possibly a C550? that would sound good. a V8 non amg model, a little more ponys than the 335i.

btw, the W204 model looks better than I thought it would be, atleast they didnt put those weird tail light rings on like the S

I couldn't quite figure out were to place the W202 in relation to the others. It was a little like the S of its time, but not as bulbous. It sure was a step up from the W201 though.

C350 power will be boosted up to 306hp, same as 335i.
The rumour was there will be no C63 but W204 will named its AMG model to be C55 with the 6.2litre engine detuned to ~400hp.
Model code 63 now only goes to the more expensive models e.g. CLK63, CLS63, E63 etc.
C550, no way, who would pay double for a poor man's benz (without AMG badge)
