By the way - I'm still debating the ECU solution, and I'm wondering: what will happen if I have all of Stage II installed on the car, but the stock ECU? Wouldn't this create a dangerously lean run condition? I need to know if the car can be driven while I finish my homework and make a choice.
Floor it whenever you want.

Good going Jerry! I have to be a passenger in that car one day to feel the power. I want to mod car more but am contemplating in about two years to get a CLS55 instead. If I stay with this car then I will mod it further. You are almost there you might as well finnish it up.

I was wondering if EVOSPORT has decided to make a header kit for the C55. I am also interested in the phenolic spacers, uderdrive/overdrive kit as well as a secondary heat exchanger for it as well. I'm hoping you can add these to your offering since there are just as many C55 owners out there as C32 owners. I believe the only upgrade you offer for C55's is the Quaife LSD.

You know JGSX I would like that but I am still recovering from a stroke I suffered back in Dec 05 and I don't feel easy doing any kind of racing..........I tried and I don't feel stable personally. But once better I would do it!
It would be a great comparison peice.
Jerry............we'll have to plan it one of these upcoming weekends b4 U store your car.

this afternoon i examined my headers, they were at the shop that will be installing my stg 2.
not impressed.
one of the welds inside the collector was very bad, big blob of metal protruding 5mm or so. the other header had a blob just sitting on the inside on the middle pipe. my guy will do his best to grind them down.
did anyone examine their headers before installing? i'm curious....

As of right now we are not planning to build headers for the C55. We have just not had the demand yet to build them. For the C55, we do off the Underdrive Pulley kit, Powerchip ECU upgrade and Quife LSD for the car.
#41
We carefully inspect each set of headers when they arrive, as well as after they return from coating. I can assure you that that is a rare occurance to find any flaws in the workmanship of the headers.

I'm scheduled for next week. ![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I wish I didn't have the exhaust installed so we could get a true HP increase for the headers. Oh well....I know that the exhaust is not supposed to give me more power, but the car felt stronger after the install.

Thanks! I do like the new found power....
I don't mind paying MB to do the work. I know that when I sell the car, the new buyer will be glad that MB did all of the major work. Not to mention that I got a loaner too.

was your last dyno with the exhaust?

No! Which pisses me off. I had one scheduled but I ended up cancelling last minute because of the wifey and her need to "go out" that afternoon.
Maybe I should pay a few $$ and have the AMG exhaust put back on for the Dyno. Then again, who really cares...

yup, i see what you are saying...the results will be tainted alittle, but it will be good to know what you gained with the headers and exhaust...

I took some pics before giving them to the local Kleemann shop to install. Enjoy!

If I was on the hunt for every last possible incremental gain, I'd have someone go after any non-smooth or irregular internal surface before installing these. However, I wouldn't want to compromise the very well done ceramic coating - and gains would likely be minimal versus cost in time and $$.
