Evo Headers Installed!

I got my headers installed today....

What a huge difference they make. I wasn't sure if I would be able to tell, but I can, and it's amazing!

I had MB put them on and they charged me $700. I was due for my service B as well, so I had them take care of that also.

Anyone thinking about doing them should go for it.

Here is a pic....for what it's worth.

nice, but $700 to install 2 headers? any exhaust shop can do this for a lot less.

Can barely see it but looks nice. Do you have pics of the headers just by themselves? Did you notice any difference in the sound? Do you have before and after dynos?

Yup, I got other quotes, but even my exhuast shop wanted $85 hr @ 6 hours. At least I know it was done right at MB.

Where to begin...

I did not take any pics of them before hand. I just got them in (thanks Mike and Brad) and I dropped my car off the same day.

There is no difference in sound, but then again, my exhaust it too loud to notice. There is a huge increase in low end power for me. The car feels just right and this may be the last engine mod I do.

Again, I just got the car back a few hours ago, so the Dyno is next. I will schedule it first thing tomorrow. They generally have a 1-2 week waiting period. I got 342WHP last time, so hopefully it will be a nice jump in power.

LOL....I hate blue. I do, however, love the carbon fiber accents. I have some of those (factory), but they do not look as nice. That arm rest cover is pimp!

This is not my car....I made the pic by combining two pics off of http://www.carlsson.de/.

Sell the NAV yet?

Hi Jerry,

Congratulations on the headers, I'm really excited to see before and after dynos. Looks like you'll be able to dyno your car before I get mine back after all. My car is still at Evosport waiting for the new Inter Cooler pump. I should have a dyno by tuesday or wednesday of next week, and I'll keep you posted.

Don't forget to post dyno as soon as you possibly can...

I expect 355 to 360 whp easy... !!!AWSOME!!!

Do they make them for the c55? If so how much? and what is the claimed power? Do they look like the renntech or kleemanns?

Evo doesn't make headers for the C55. Only renntech and kleemann.

too bad it would be nice to have some competition. The price for a set of either headers is atrocious.

Thanks guys! I'm also glad that I did these mods in stages. I was told by Renntech to not bother with the headers. What a load of crap that statement has turned out to be. It's nice to know that the money is well spent, you know?

I'm still debating the LSD....

If the budget allows, that should be your next mod. I love it

I got my Evosport headers in the same shipment as Jerry, but I don't have them on yet. I'll be sure to post pictures of the headers before having them installed.

Jerry - get the Quaife LSD. It is the best mod money I've spent on the car!

I really do want it....

Joe - maybe we can go for a drive in your ride so you can show me what the LSD can do.

Thanks for the update Jerry. I am happy to hear that everything went well on the installation and that you love the power. The LSD is the next step and well worth it.

By the way - I'm still debating the ECU solution, and I'm wondering: what will happen if I have all of Stage II installed on the car, but the stock ECU? Wouldn't this create a dangerously lean run condition? I need to know if the car can be driven while I finish my homework and make a choice.

as long as you keep your foot out of it and drive it like a normal car, it will be fine...if you have a heavy foot, then i would not do the upgrades without the ECU, it will run lean...

Sorry, but I'm confused here... This mod doesn't violate the warranty? What engine mods do/dont?
