Wurth Paint for C32 rims?

I read that all/most German cars, including MB, use the same silver paint for their rims: Wurth silver paint and Wurth clear coat. Do you know if this is the type of paint used on the C32 double spoke rims?

In case you ask, I am considering doing minor rim repairs myself.

Thanks

I've heard the same thing, but cannot confirm it. I've painted my wheels (used a gunmetal color on the centers and polished the rim). Just painting should be a breeze, especially if you do not have chips to repair. Just clean 'em up, mask off the tires and go wild. Stay in a breeze-free area to get the best finish.

You might want to test spray some metal object (clear coat too) to confirm a match. If it's way off, you may need to paint all four.

There was a thread about this quite some time ago, and it was definitely helpful. Supposedly the Wurth silver paint is the one to use, but I can tell you from my experience that it is NOT the same.
I had another scuffed AMG rim that I practiced on and it was identical in color / shade to my originals. I used the Wurth silver, etc. as per the instructions outlined by that Porsche driver (who can't park his car).
The results were fantastic, however the color is definitely not the same - you get up close to the original and the painted one and it's pretty clear that they are different. That said, they look good from afar.
I just want to do the inside of my rims since they are pretty crumby looking compared to the outside - it'll look just fine there.

Fifth Ring what kind of paint and color did you use ? What kind of clear coat ?
Are they durable ? Did you ever compare whether your wheel color is similar to the ones on SL65? Thx

I was trying to replicate the SL65, and it's close but not quite. I used a color called Jaguar Gunmetal Blue, and then clearcoated. It's not wheel-specific paint, just regular car paint. It's held up well, including a high-temp weekend at the track.

All paints will chip when an NTB employee slams a socket wrench around your lug bolts, and when the paint is dark over silver, each chip looks nasty. So I am either going to blue tape the bolt holes or take the wheels off myself when I need tires mounted or balanced.

The paint used on the AMG rims is supposedly of a type that the EPA does not allow into the US - you can't paint these rims the SAME color inside the US. This was according to a few rim-refinishers, so that's not information from MB/AMG themselves - take it FWIW.
