'02 c32 oil capacity 8.5 US quarts??

'02 c32 oil capacity 8.5 US quarts??
so i did an oil change today and looked at the manual. the listed oil capacity is "8.5 us quarts". does this seem a little high to you or is it just me? i put 7 quarts and the in car indicator said it was too low, i put 7.5 quarts and got the same message. at 8 quarts it stopped and basically read "service on time"
<edit>wow wow wow, ok i searched for "c32 oil capacity" "amg oil capacity" and "w203 oil capacity" and came up with nothing. then after posting i searched for "8.5 quarts" and voila..the correct results came up.
the answer i got was this:
8.25-8.5 quarts of oil if you drain the oil from the oil pan and put a new filter in. 7.5 quarts if drained from top.

And if you are using proper synthetic, the oil alone is going to cost you $50.

same...the 2.6 and 3.2 V6 all use 8.5 quart.
that reminds me to change my oil again...damn...this time was way too quick. only changed it in the summer too...5k miles ago. I use Liqui Moly btw. best oil i've used for my car so far.
