<<<<<<<<HELPFUL HINTS FOR INSTALLING THERE>>>>>>>>

No need to wedge or hammer anything on the gas pedal cover. Its plastic so use a little care when removing it. Here is a quick and easy way to install the gas pedal cover.

The only time you will ever use your wifes protable make-up mirror is when installation these. Its a life saver and lets you see behind the pedal.

There is a plastic piece that secures the SS pedal cover to the actual pedal. I am refering to the long tail that has the two holes drilled on it that you just purchased. There is a plastic bolt that locks these two holes to the acutal pedal. You will see it if you use a mirror. Simply use a small allan (SP?) wrench and get under the piece and pull slightly on it and this plastic bolt (call it that for a lack of a better term) comes right out. Place the allan wrench in the center vs the sides for better leverage and removeal. From there the SS pedal cover slides right out. Slide the new one in and replace the plastic set bolt. The pedal installation should not take more than 10 mintues if your somewhat mechanically inclined. Hope you find this useful.

ya, i don't think anyone will have problems putting the new pedals on, it's placing the gas pedal back into the original position to screw it back on.... that's the simple yet surprisingly irritating problem.

I'm going to take out the gas pedal tonight and wrap some padding around the sprintbooster so it won't accidentally shake and rattle inside.

These cars should have come with these pedals from MB. Anyway, if you don't have these, it's the best 45 bucks you can spend. Don't fall into the eBay - Taiwan - drill to install trap. These are easier than drilling, come from MB and cost less than half! Part numbers are on the forum...just search. You'll need them at oempartsdirect because for some reason you can't bring them up by type of part. Enter the part number and there they are. Thanks for posting those...whoever did.
I DID THE SAME THING... HOLLY f**K THEY GOT HERE IN LIKE 2 DAYS AND INSTALLED THEM SIMPLE 10MINUTES B/C I GOT SCARED WHEN THE WHOLE ACCELERATOR CAME OUT

Got these pedals quick!!! Just installed them today. The mirror trick helped a lot. They were on in no time at all. Easy upgrade. Did anybody notice that the parking brake pedal is a little different shade and the rubber part is oval instead of round like the brake and accelerator pedal??? Just wondering if the right part number was posted...

I noticed that as well. Once installed, your pretty hard pressed to tell the difference and for $35.00 I'm a pretty happy camper.

PS, put the mirror back in your wifes vanity drawer before she catches wind of what you used it for!

Exclamation Beware...

Beware!!! If you have purchased the OEM pedals, do not swap the whole gas pedal with your old part. I am referring to part 170-300-00-04 accelerator pedal. Keep reading if interested...

I had installed the pedals a couple of weeks ago, purchased from OEM Parts Direct. I noticed at that time that the plastic part of the new gas pedal had different length and shape and I thought that is not a big deal and replaced the old pedal with the new. In time, I have noticed it was hard to control low throttle inputs - due to compromised ergonomics. The new pedal seems to come almost vertical with no slant to accommodate a better foot alignment and is slightly harder to press.

Since I felt something was wrong, ergonomically, I did search the forum and came across this, post #3:

https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...=170+300+00+04

In short: keep and use the plastic part of you original W203 gas pedal, but slide out the old rubber and then replace it with the new rubber/aluminum pad. You will not use the plastic part that came with you new OEM gas pedal.

After I did the above, the gas pedal feels much better. Hope that helps.

A few questions regarding the gas pedals. When I installed these I noticed what appeared to me to be a control at the footboard -- it is pressed when the pedal is pushed all the way down to the floor. I take it that this is simply the ECU reset? Am I correct in assuming this?

Since the throttle is all electronic is it possible that when take out the accelerator that the throttle control module can be damaged or somewhat pulled out or is it an either its working or you know its not type of control?
After putting the new pedals in the car seems to have lost a little something power wise?????

I just installed the pedals in my E350 and used a different part number for the parking brake.

Parking brake pad: 203-430-00-84
This part number is the one with the round circles not ovals.
