New Aluminum Pedals

I just installed OEM MB aluminum pedals in literally 8 minutes for all three. These were purchased for 44.95 from oempartsdirect. I got their website from this forum and I wanted to report on the process. It was flawless. Ordered one day, received in 5. This is the best cosmetic mod I've made so far. These cars should have come with these pedals from MB. Anyway, if you don't have these, it's the best 45 bucks you can spend. Don't fall into the eBay - Taiwan - drill to install trap. These are easier than drilling, come from MB and cost less than half! Part numbers are on the forum...just search. You'll need them at oempartsdirect because for some reason you can't bring them up by type of part. Enter the part number and there they are. Thanks for posting those...whoever did.

I was checking out a E63 at MB locally and that was one of the first things that jumped out at me when opening the door.

Just ordered them for my C32. Thanks for posting the part numbers. I sent back a set that needed to be drilled a few months back. a few of the holds where the screws were to go over hung the peddle and didn't even try to make them work. These look and sound good!~

Thanks to the forum for another great find. I just ordered these. Thanks for the part numbers. I took the advice last time and got one of the chrome keys for next to nothing. It works great so I hope this buy will go the same way. Do the old ones just slide off and the new ones slide on? Is it as easy as it looks? Just wondering...

I just bought a set of AMG stamped pedals from formymercedes .... along with a bunch of other stuff.

The pedals look really sweet, and Jerry is a great guy to deal with.

Pretty much. The parking brake is the easiest...just swap...very easy to slip on. The brake is a little more difficult. I spread the whole thing wide open with the gas pedal side on, then slipped it over the pedal top to bottom. The challenge is getting the flaps folded around the back of the pedal all the way around. You may have to play a little, but I really did get this whole install in less than 8 minutes. The gas pedal is easy. With a flat head screwdriver, pop off the round cover over a bolt. Remove nut with 10mm socket, slip entire gas pedal assembly out over the bolt. Be careful not to pull it out too far, as it is attached to wires. On the bollom of the back side there is a plastic piece holding the pedal in place. Simply pry it up side to side until it comes out and then remove and swap the pedals. Reverse for reinstall. It is a little tricky getting the assembly back into the top under the dash. Be a little patient and work it until it seems to fit up there and back over the bolt. No problems. Good luck. They look a lot better.

I must be doing something wrong. The accelerator pedal always takes me forever to stick it back in properly. Forever! as in 30 mins of trial and error.

What's the deal here?

TELL me about it! I am finally good at it. Just take a real good look at how it goes in before you remove it, and don't be afraid to SHOVE that sucker back up there. Once you get it in the top hold, the bolt should line up on the first try.

FYI for those who want to save a little bit more money...there is a discount code in the Group Buy forum for 25% off all orders thru OEMpartsdirect.com. So those that are hesistating can use that discount. I just saw the post and figured that I should buy stuff while I can. I also have the pedals in my CLK and they do add a little to the interior of my car. I love em...

That's how I ended up doing it ... got so pissed off and just stuffed it in...

I use a sprintbooster as well and have noticed that if you tuck the cord+device to the left of the accelerator, it might touch the steering column, causing some rubbing as you turn the wheel. I pulled the covering flap back and blindly moved the offending piece somewhere away and jammed it in place between some padded spot.

I must have gotten lucky when I put mine back in then. I had to shove it up in there maybe two or three times to get it far enough up so the hole would go back over the bolt, but didn't take any time really.
