No actually it's not. Per official website, the US model will not have the cf interior door panels.

Sorry, as I apparently read your post too quickly. I was more referring to the "typical" Mercedes products that in the US are more equipped at a lower price than their European counterparts.

I have some in the car right now. It kicks ***. It really made the interior first class.

I'll have two more sets available in about 3 weeks.

Well, I wouldn't say that the Z06 is still faster and will cost alot less, but it's American boring and cheaply built. This car is amazing and I want to buy one now. I actually called my dealer earlier today about this car and all he could tell me is that he has heard of it, but knows nothing now about pricing, options or when it will be available. He did say he might know more in a week or so and would get back to me. Now all I'm going to do is think about this car.

It's nice, but I like the CLS more, 4 door sedan that looks like a 2 door:

I agree with RawAMGpower...I don't think this CLK Black Edition is a world beater. Look at the Z06 and Viper. It looks like both those cars beat it in acceleration and I wouldn't be suprised at all if they spank this car on the track. Also note these cars are under 100 grand. Thats a pretty big difference in price. If this car had backseats and was more usable as a daily driver then I could see the justification. Since it is only a 2 seater and since this car is geared towards performance over luxury, I think it can be compared to the Z06 and Viper.

Now, for the same price as this CLK Black Edition, you can get a 997 911 Turbo. This is the only car out of the group that has back seats, plus you can get it in automatic if you want. The 911TT Tiptronic does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds (yes, I have done 0-60's with it and it really can hit it that fast and with ease). The Z06 does 0-60 around 3.5 seconds with an experienced driver and the Viper can hit it at just under 4 seconds.

I think people will just get this car because the widebody kit looks hot and yes, it will peform great but for a cheaper price you can get a better performing car.

I still really like it, I was just hoping that it would be at around 100k and that it would come with backseats.

New GT3 for sure! According to the newest car mag write-ups, it's as close to perfection as they've seen. Perfect blend of track car and comfort.

The Z06, yeah great it's faster, but that doesn't make a difference. Nowadays most people buy for the brand and the luxury. The CLK is a Mercedes-Benz. The Z06 is a Chevy, the same brand as the taxis. Not having back seats means nothing - the M6, Porsche's, Aston Martin - those rear seats are just there to be there, nobody uses them!

I think for a CLK this is completely impressive, it's the fastest production Mercedes-Benz apart from the SLR. Most of all, it looks good! Because not everybody buys a car to take to the track - and we don't do 155MPH everyday, but we do drive. And when you drive everyday, slow or fast, you want to look good and feel good too.

To be fair, I bet there's some mercedes taxi's in Germany. In other country's, American Muscle cars are exotic, and mercedes, bmw, etc are the norm. The Z06 is a very nice automobile, except for the fact they skimped a little on the interior. They should make a $10k more expensive model and have the luxery items you'd find on a porsche, imo.

I totally agree with you. You can't compare the luxury, comfort, and overall feel of a Mercedes with a Chevy. Thats why I got a CLK over something like a Vette. However, I feel like this car is setup as a track car and is going to be less of a Mercedes and more of a Chevy. Just by looking at the seats, the ride height, and the lack of backseats, I doubt this is going to be a comfortable Mercedes. These black series cars are designed for the track. I take an AMG over a Z06 anyday, but like I was saying, I feel like this car is Mercedes trying to be something that they're not. This is pure speculation, the CLK Black Series may ride very smooth and still have the luxuries of the other CLKs, but I feel like this car may be too raw for most Mercedes drivers.

I guess I'll have to wait and see for myself when they hit showrooms.
