What is up, bout 2 buy a c32!

I was trying to decide whether I should buy a C32 or an M3. Both 2002. I been doing extensive reading on trying to figure out what I want. I decide on a C32 because of comfort, safety, better handling in bad weather, and will be faster with simple mods. I live in Houston, TX and I was wondering how much of a difference it will be on the track, due to the fact I am real close to sea level. I have done research and figure out it can knock bout .3 - .6 off the 1/4 mile. Do yall agree or disagree. Also I have seen a stock c32 go from 0 - 60 in 4.55 sec and 4.65. Thats faster then the stock m3. Anyways I want a fast car but dont need it too fast, just want to be able to beat Mustangs, Camaros and Trans Am. Cuz that is what all my friends have. I have seen stock auto camaros do 13.2 in the 1/4 mile. Will my C32 stock be able to beat that down here on sea level.

I don't see a stock camaro running a 13.2 in the 1/4th, C5 vette's run around 13.3'ish, but those are tuned better and are lighter? Maybe an SS camaro with some minor bolt-ons or drag radials though. Just ran my C32 stock at Ennis (near dallas) and got a 13.6 @ 104, expect a similar time, maybe a little quicker if you can get traction (I couldn't).

I didnt either but I witness 2 different stock camaros (auto) do it. one was 13.3 and the other was 13.2. ran like 4 or 5 times and that was there best time. they were my friends, dont know y but i have like 5 friends with camaros. I live by the Houston raceway park and go to the track often. this is consider one of the best tracks. I think its because we are on sea level and was driven by a good driver. A buddy camaro ran 12.8 with just headers and slicks. I also witness that. I saw a c32 run 12.9 on the same track, i talk to the guy and he said it was completey stock. but cant confirmed that.

Just get the C32...you won't regret it. Plus you'll have four door.

I just bought a C32 and was glad I did. Fantastic car. Well built, wonderful power delivery, fun to drive. About the only bad thing I can say about it is gas mileage. As to beating an LS1 Camaro, I don't know. I had a '99 SS for a very short time. I never ran either in the 1/4 mile but my guess is stock v. stock, they're very close. But in every other way, the C32 is far superior. Other than straight line acceleration, the Camaro is a joke. It's relatively poorly built, doesn't handle nearly as well, and feels like a boat. A lot of cheap plastics inside too. It was fast, yes, but beyond that, I didn't like mine much.

And, not to sound snobby, but there's a stigma associated with driving a Camaro. Not an impressive car to others. But if all you care about is stoplight and drag racing, the LS1 is hard to beat. Cheap, easy to modify, and easy to maintain.

I also owned an E36 M3. I've never driven an E46 but my guess is that in concept, they are similar. An M3 is a totally different driving experience than a C32. The M3 feels more sporty and edgy. The C32 feels like a very fast luxury car, and feels more "normal" in day to day driving. It's a lot smoother and more comfortable. I see that as a plus but if you want a racy feeling car all the time, the M3 may be the way to go. I'd drive both and see which you prefer. I think that will become apparent quickly.

You live by HRP in Baytown? I'm from there, went to Sterling High School, how bout you? I lived about 5 minutes from that track and ran lots of times there, but live in Dallas Metroplex now. Actually going down to H-town for Easter to see the parents this weekend though (track could be fun)

I'll see if I can swing down to Baytown for it, although by the time I get there, it'll probably be packed. But that's always fun to watch other cars anyway.
