Zeppelin’s technique worked perfectly.
Upon reassembly, noticed the pulley-to-snout clearance was too large.
Removing one of the three original spacers enabled measurement within specification.
Note each has a different thickness, likely to maximize available adjustability.
The pleasant result was reduced engagement “chirp.”

Their respective dimensions are ostensibly designed for minimal (hand) pressure requirement upon installation at workshop temperature.
Note the two tend to become a mild interference fit during normal operating temperatures.
