"Secret" brake pad fitments?
EBC lists a C32/C55 fitment in their RedStuff (ceramic pad) but no corresponding YellowStuff pad. The YellowStuff pad is a track pad that I'd use over the RedStuff for track days (although the RedStuff has worked well).
The RedStuff pad that fits the C32/C55 is part DP31363C (f). That same part number fits several other Benz's, and some of those Benz's also show a YellowStuff pad that fits part no. DP41363R. If both of those fit the other Benz then would the YellowStuff pad fit the C32/C55?
I'll do some digging, but if anyone knows, let me know.

i buy my r4 directly from them. i will be trying raybestos st43 in a few weeks.
also thinking about getting the SLK55 floating rotors as well but I can't seem to find a part number...

The DP41363R is supposed to fit the C32, so therefore should fit the C55.

on a side note, i'm pretty sure they have the wrong pads listed for my car, which i BELIEVE shares the same front brakes as the C32/C55.

The redstuff appears to throw off less dust. Either one would be fine for street use. I'd favor the redstuff just because of the reduced dust.
One quirk. After a few on-track sessions, the redstuff pads seem to lose their initial cold "bite" so a firmer pedal is required. This goes away after a week or two. If you never use them on-track, you'll never experience this.

Are these pads are compatible with the OEM rotors?
One of the retailer in here quoted me $140 for 4 pads, are they reasonable?
Thanks.
http://www.ebcbrakes.com/Assets/USA%...automotive.xls has the part #'s.

Any comments? I am about to buy the pads soon!
Nonsense. I've had EBC Ceramics on my C32 for 2+ years and the rotors are fine. This is what the EBC Web site says about "Ultimax" pads (basically, it sounds like their discount line of pads):
July 06 - EBC Brakes launches the Ultimax OEM Plus brake pad range in North American Market
Featuring over 350 part numbers of the top selling brakes for cars, light truck and SUV. The new Ultimax range has a lower price point than the popular EBC sport range and targets the urban commuter market for everyday driving.
Urban commuter market?

So, I think it is better for me to get the "redstuff" for my OEM rotors right?
I want to get the R4-S but nobody carries this in Canada.
I do not know who else sells them but Porterfield themselves is where I bought mine. I got R4 for the front and R4S for the rear for a track day. Awesome brakes! I am going to switch in R4S for the front for street duty since the R4 squeak and dust a lot!
porterfieldbrakes@earthlink.net is how I ordered.

BTW, I will use my OEM rotors for the new pads and I hope they would eat my rotors!
I'd love to get the AMG CLK63 (or SLK 55 030) brake upgrade (see specs middle of second page on http://www.amg-mercedes.com/assets/p...ss_english.pdf), but just can't justify the expense (even though, when considering BBKs out there "apples to apples" - this approach seems like the best deal by far).
Looking at price lists for Brembo, Renntech, etc., am I correct in saying that for upgrading to a Front & Rear BBK, you're looking at anywhere from $5k up to $8k+? For those of you who've taken the plunge, did you really feel that the stock C32 brakes were really that bad?
I'm thinking that I can keep the stock size calipers but go a step-up to better pads and possibly rotors also for well under a grand... which leaves a lot of money for other fun stuff that I haven't done yet like Renntech Stage I, possibly headers, etc.
