Hmm................ If you are hitting 10.5 lbs, than there is an added restricition somewhere in the intake or exhaust.

Ported heads and cams should lower boost level.

1.4 BAR = 20.305 PSI at 0 FT Above Sea Level

i don't have ported heads or cams yet...

What restriction could there be? Is this a bad thing if the car is pulling harder?

Vadim's right - If anything your porting should have lowered the max PSI from the blower not raised it. Maybe you got a burr or partially plugged line going to the boost gauge.

He knows that his boost should have been lowered....actually he was expecting it before he started the project, which is why he posted his result.

What other restrictions could there be? I doubt it's the line to the BG.

anything is possible, i will check the line to make sure there are no restrictions in it...

but if there was a restriction in the line to the boost gauge, wouldn't it read lower?

Mistypo, I meant 20.5 lbs.

Max boost from any of the current pulleys is around 18 lbs. So there is an extra 2.5 lbs. being created somewhere.

What has changed since last time?

only physical change was the intercooler...

i gasket matched the intake plenums and intake runners (the part attached to the supercharger) to the evosport phenolic spacers...

and i polished everything that i could...

Is the IC taking up any of the volumetric space once used for air? Less space = more boost...right?

Funny, we were talking about this yesterday.

Found another piece of the orginal project. As you can see from the picture I used original manifold and attached an IC core to the side. Very similar to how SLR ICs work.

I have three pieces - IC replacement pipe, splitter and passenger side IC assembly. To complete the project one will need to create driver side IC and fabricate new air intake that goes in the middle of the engine above the kompressor.

what boost gauge are you using?
Did you get a chance to get a reading from this boost gauge before the mod?

I suspect it could just be a faulty boost gauge. Boost is only an indirect and relative measurement. If you did not get a chance to measure it before the mod, then a highish reading now doesnt mean much. If the car feels faster then that is all it matters.

i am using a DEFI electronic gauge...i don't have a reading from before

i am pretty sure i have figured out what the problem is though, i think the port that i have tapped for the boost gauge is too small...i am going to drill it out a little more to see if that helps...

i will post back when i get a chance to do this...

I doubt that it will make much difference.
I have a Defi BG on my Honda s2k and I think it reads higher than the boost gauge on the dyno as well.

just wanted to update this thread:

the port that i was using in the y-connector was indeed too small...making it bigger solved the problem, i am now sitting right at 18psi...

so i have accomplished everything that i set out to do in this thread...the only thing that i would like to do now is log my IAT to see where it is at in this houston heat...i will report back when i get a chance to do that...

OK, I finally got the heat exchanger off the car and have the car sold next week as stock. This and the Kmac's are the only things left around the garage. This heat exchanger was custom built and I possibly the largest front mount unit you can fit on the car. It is 30"W x 8"H x 3"D! Wanted to post some pics for your enjoyment. This unit performed flawlessly and kept the air intake temps below 130 even with repeated high speed use. I don't need it anymore and it won't fit on the E90. It is looking for a good home. Make me an offer. It was quite expensive. Send PM.

Steve, I sent you a PM. For some reason, I thought you sold your heat exchanger to 1FASTC32. I guess not?
