I still got the primary cats, removed secondary. And yes catalytic converters are required for emissions test.

Figured as much. Solo chiste! I do like that X pipe. Please post a sound clip when you have it finished.

I recall your video with the SRT-8. Your C32 runs strong! Good luck with your project.

hey man, the mod looks good.
i was thinking about doing the same mod but i was told that when u do the Quad exhaust on the C32 u loose back-pressure thus loose horse power. so i backed away from doing this. tell me us if u fell a difference in the power of the car, try it in different places like going up hill and stuff.

but non the less the Quad setup looks sweet

looks good! couple of questions though:

1. why did you use aluminized steel instead of stainless steel? it is probably because of cost, but i am just curious...

2. do you have headers on your car?

How did you get Falken Azenis (RT-615?) in our staggered size? I have those on my S4, but I couldn't find 245s or the like for the rear with the right ratio/combination.

I have toyed with doing this since I got the car and saw someone's setup in Singapore or something - said it sounded like a Carerra

Sound clips and butt-dyno sheets!

I took Tom to a spot to get the resonator removed, that cost 60 for a Y pipe. Going to gut his cats sometime this week at my shop

gutting the cats is one of the worst things that you can do to the exhaust system...it creates a vortex within the exhaust that was not meant to be there, in other words, it does not scavenge the exhaust gases out of the exhaust system...

either leave the cats alone or remove them...anything else and you will actually lose HP...

I am going to use Magnaflow 14862 mufflers, yes I will put up sound clips as soon as I get my car back.

And the CF carlsson replica spoiler had a perfect fit on my car, plus it looks great, looks good with the Eurotecknil CF front lip, plus I have the top of the car painted black.

I hope to get some extra power with this mod, couldn´t take the car to the dyno, but I got some number with a G-tech, hope it can help me find out if there was an increase in power. However I will post my butt dyno results.

1. I used aluminized steel, because of the cost, and stainless steel is hard to find in exhaust shops here. And I didn´t want to wait a month or two to get the stainless steel piping.

2. I have EvoSport headers.

I got the Falkens from a friends shop in Houston, TX, named Cartronix. I am using the RT-615 225/45-17 front and 255/40-17 rear, perfect fit, works great and looks awesome.

The guy making the job is charging me around $500 for the whole piping, including installation of the whole system.

I've heard this same comment on a different thread, but on the topic of the resonator-delete mod causing less backpressure and potentially some lost power.

I'm fairly new to the C32, but have been a car nut forever, and my limited understanding on this topic is this (feel free to chime in if this is wrong!):

With naturally-aspirated engines, exhaust tuning is very important and "more" isn't necessarily "better" when it comes to overall flow. However, with forced-induction engines (i.e. turbocharged or supercharged), you're likely to see power gains with a less-restrictive exhaust system (within reason...) - especially if you're dealing with modded engines like you see on these forums that're running higher-than-stock boost levels.

Anyone who knows their stuff want to clear this up? Thanks!!

One problem is that AMG did a very good job on our exhaust. Another problem is that the C32 should have a dual exhaust all the way back. Our 2-1 setup makes for exhaust modding nightmares. I spent about $3000 on a custom exhaust setup and as of now, I'm back to my AMG muffler with an aftermarket resonator and 100 celll racing cats. The car seems to like where it is, but I will be doing a dual exhaust shortly. I can tell you from these pics that the x-pipe is too far back. A good rule of thumb is to put the car on a lift and measure the temps from the primary cats going back using a temp gun. When you notice a sudden drop in temps, you have found the perfect spot for the h / x pipe. For me, it was about half way between the primary cats and the resonator.
