2003 C32 Purchase. Need some opinions.

i just put down 1k on the down payment for a 2003 c32. white/blk. pretty much standard. it has 41k miles and i have a deal for 27. they originally asked for 33 . its from the mb dealership and has warranty for a year or 100k. i was looking at other peoples purcahse and it seems im paying a bit more in my opinion. if not let me know. thanks.

btw. i just sold a 2004 honda s2k in white. been in the market for c32 or m3 since then. just looking at all the posts about the problems with c32 made me a lil unsure. but i tend to forget when i drive it.

a C32 AMG & S-Works Tarmac
The price seems to be in mid-range for a CPO'ed 03 with that mileage. It's not too bad. If you have the warranty, most of the problems should be insignificant to the fun of the car. Good luck.

Alabaster White C230K Grey Int. and 2003 C32 pewter/charcoal gray
Thats a good price...car is great...dont worry about the bad things you hear cause it can all be fixed...utilize your warranty...before it ends try to get your car check with all the problems you see in this forum

I would strongly advise to take the additional 2 years CPO warranty from MB dealer. This will buy you peace of mind and virtually no repair cost for 3 years or 100K miles.

C32 AMG
Price is mid, so you are ok there. Warranty is great, I wish I had mine from MB instead of third party.

Whats with all the whites turning up.... lol

I would be happy with that deal. I just got my 2002 c32 with 38k miles for $27,200. It also included 18" BBS rims, limo tint all around, and free oil changes for a year. I added a 4-year/48k mile warranty. I thought the overall price was pretty good though?

The list price to extend 1 extra year is $2,395 and to extend it by 2 years is $3,995. However, MB is usually very willing to deal in that respect. I have taken the 2 year extended warranty for slightly under $3K. Keep in mind a regular C-class cars list price for a 2 year add'l CPO warranty is only $1,925 vs. AMG $3,995. You can see the MB list prices on the MB website under the CPO heading for warranties.
To sum it up, I think it's worthwile since a repair could easily costs you litteraly thousands of $'s. Like transmission trouble (glycol contamination), superchargers performance (cutting in & out) due to wiring problems in '02's & '03's, etc. My car is running out of the normal warranty in 2007 and I am covered with the CPO extended warranty until 2010. I also have to say that my MB Dealer is really great, they take care of every little detail and have a great mechanic on site which is really into AMG cars and can pinpoint a problem in no time at all, and best of all it has not cost me a dime yet.
I bought my 2003 C32 in 2005 and I am still very happy with it. It's a great car. Good Luck with your purchase.

Sounds fair to me too. That's not a lot of miles, and the smart way to buy a C32 is either 1. Get a warranty, 2. Buy one with all the TSB's already addressed, or both. You're going to love the car - nothing can come close to the performance and cache for the price!

I know! My guess is that people salted 'em away, saving the best for last I saw a total of 1 white one when I was looking, and bought it immediately. Now, it seems there are several (though I've still not seen another on the street -- just on the board). Oh well, I guess people just have good taste.
