C32 IC Pump

Hi I'm new to this thread so i'm not sure how to post on here so here we go. I have purchased a 2003 C32 that has no mods on it and have put a 181mm crank set on and a tune from Jerry. I've been having surge problems and have concluded that my IC pump may be bad, so I've bought a Johnson C30. Well I thought i was going to be putting it on the radiator reservoir but read some post and see another pump behind the lower bumper that looks like it is probably the right one. Does anyone know what the one on the radaitor reservoir is for? Thanks James.

Hey James I'm sure it's somewhere in the forum but quick Google search yielded this: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w203...placement.html

Thank you C32used, that was very helpful, I'll be using the Johnson C30, but that was the basics and at least I know I'll be changing the right one,,still was curios what that other circulation pump on the radiator reservoir was for,,,

Well as for like a regular maintenance on a SC I don't recall there is one but then again last few years my C32 is parked in Chicago Winters..but I recall someone did a oil change of some type on the SC...I have to look for link but pretty sure link is somewhere in this thread...but lag can be a simple throttle reset of the drive pattern we use

Throttle Reset.

key in ignition position 2, hold down accelerator pedal to kick down position for about 10+seconds. turn key back into position 0, release foot, start car.

computer recognizes throttle response/pattern roughly around 3-500 miles

or get a Sprint Booster which keeps pedal fresh adds no power but sure feels like it did..lol

here is a install thread sorry images gone: https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...r-c32-diy.html

C55 AMG T with Kleemann K2 and some stuff: 414 hp and 562 Nm :-)
DonŽt know if anybody mentioned this before:

If you are about to overtake and you drive in S or C-mode,

pull the gearstick to the left and hold it there for a second,

and the car will gear down to appropiate gear (often 2 gears)
for best pull!!

I wanna say there is a thread on this type situation but not sure...as for opinion honestly don't want to steer you wrong way thus I'd say keep searching and asking questions if it sounds like this it may be something internal in SC a new pulley won't help that so maybe try to get cost out of it

I believe I have a long time ago..and it worked but I didn't install it so I have no idea if it was a PITA to get it to work...as for tune up yes it can be done....but the plugs by firewall are hardest to get to due to lack of spacing but found it easier by removing coil packs. I had plugs replaced 3x and each time it was easier. Good luck

P.S there are DIY on most anything you can think off also look on youtube.

As for what should be done:

Spark plugs(I use Denso IK20 #5304) these run colder then the IK16
Wires I use no problem: Magnecor Kv85 Competition wires
Fuel Filter I use: Mahle(I believe are OEM)(On 2002 model year its on Drivers side about midway towards rear of car)
Air filters I recommend are: K&N but if you don't like the cleaning aspect then stick with OEM

these are what I would change with your mileage if your not positive were changed.

There is tons of info even trouble shooting and many DIY all over site...WELCOME
