OK, let me be the first to say it: This is a C32/C55 forum, not a CLK forum. There.

Now, since I own a C32, I had taken it to MBLN for its bath. It wandered into the showroom to see the W204's and found a couple of beauties. I had to leave quickly because the salespeople were bothered by the drool I was leaving all over the cars.

The CLK Black Series had an addendum in the window with "Market" adjustment of $50,000, bringing the price to $188,000 and some change. A few minutes after snapping these shots, a lot attendant took the car to the back (probably to wash the drool off) and the sound, even at 10-15 mph, was amazing.

The CLK-DTM track car was cool because the street DTM is sitting directly behind in in the showroom. I hear the dealership GM was doing some fast passes in the track DTM, on the frontage road directly in front of the dealership the other day.

I'm sorry about the quality of the photos. I had just taken the camera out of the back seat before I went down there, for the carwash. My Treo takes crappy shots but at least you can get the idea.

A few more
Here are a few more shots of the Black and the DTM.

Also, I found another rarity in downtown Carmel, during the Pebble Beach weekend. I like the little numbers on the front quarter.

Wow... those are gorgeous, nice find.

I'm a bit surprised (and appalled) by the $50,000 market value adjustment on the Black Series, driving the asking price up to roughly $190k... it's a nice car, but not THAT nice of a car, IMHO. You could buy a C63 AND a 997 GT3 for that kind of money...

Great pictures. Kinda makes you want to take the C32 for its bath again just to have another look, doesn't it?!

That CLK back series is very nice. I saw a red/black one at Walters in Riverside a few days ago and it was niiiicceeee. It was also sold for 20K over the 135k sticker. I walked around the thing for 10 minutes with a boner in my pants. That ride is nice but the tag is a little high for my liking. The carbon fiber accents are sweet.

My thinking was you get the same performance out of a C63 (pretty much) and can gold plate the items that are carbon fiber on the CLK black series and still have more than enough left in the bank.

MB preys on the overly wealthy got to have it type. You can buy twom Z06 units for the price of one CLK black, put one in the garage and drive the hell out of the other one until it falls apart.

I still like it alot though.

Splint, you find me my TA yet?

My brothers 65 GTO is featured in the current Hemmings Muscle Car mag (not 100% sure of the name of the mag). Pretty cool to see a car a played with in a muscle car magazine......

I overheard the sales guy saying that "of course, we just want to see what it will bring". They are playing the first law of economics.

OK, so I go back today (to MBLN) for the car bath. This time they have 2 more CLK BS's (total of 3) on the showroom floor. One White, one Silver plus the black. Oooooo.

Also, I found a 40th Anniversary CL65 AMG. This car has the nicest paint I've ever seen. It was a Liquid Metal paint. It looked like Titanium plating. It's such a deal at only $298,000.

The DTM was sent back to the museum the other day.

I saw a CLK63 Black at Naperville Benz. It was in for service. It looked absolutely amazing in person. I found myself shuffling funds in my head for the next two days. Someday . . .

That DTM is to die for! Hot Hot Hot!

Side note - Anyone seen a W203 AMG with a front windshield ///AMG decal like that before in person (or picture)? I'm thinking I might like the look, but then again it might look tacky and "riced" at the same time.
