Here is the payment page with the final pricing. If less people buy and the prices change I will buy the extra emblems so the prices stay the same. Slowery- I built in a little to each to cover your set for the idea.

Thanks Folex you rock. Do you have a count of how many you have left after people pay? I may want to buy an extra set! Also do you need my address for the one's you're donating to me

Sorry if this is off topic but just wondering if you could make a replacement gear shift cover like the one pictured below? I dislike the standard, blank cap.

Actually that is funny you posted that. I sent a clay mold of the top of our shifters with my last fabric sample to see if they could make a bubble sticker to go over it with:
///AMG
speedshift

I could see if they would do those too.

To those of you wanting extra sets- I have had 4 people drop out of the 5.5's so those are available and I had to order a hand full of extras to get the price where it is so do all of the orders that you want.

Thank you,
Alex

Folex, would it possible to make it metallic as the image? A sticker just doesn't seem right for cars like ours.

Thank you,

Alex,

There are a bunch of us SLK owners that would love to get our hands on that lever. I'd be on at least 10 people more likely more that would be ready and willing to buy it. Please get something made. I am very impressed with the badge you've already made so I'm certain the quality would be top notch.

X2 on the metallic etched version, but I'm game for anything since the stock is so basic.

I too am interested in the shifter knob plakette/plaque. Metallic etched version preferred instead of sticker.

Question: how is this going to be applied to the shifter knob?

Well the idea I was thinking would be a black/metallic piece inlayed in a bubble "sticker." It would basically be a curved piece of clear plastic surrounding the background and script which would likely be zinc or some other metal.

I could get a price for metal but I'm guessing the moq would be huge.

Tomorrow when I'm at my storage I will check for a sample of what I'm talking about so you can see. I had some emblems made for paintball markers years back with a similar design.

Would the sticker be durable and stand up to the almost daily rub from the hands as it is on the top of the shifter knob?

With the right process it will stand up to just about anything. The ones we made for the paintball markers went through massive abuse and they were made out of the softest compound they had.

On a side note- maybe sticker isn't the best word for what I'm talking about. This would be a 2-3mm deep piece.

What's the technical term (just for my own education)? and sorry about calling it a "sticker" for want of a better term.

I call them adhesive button badge. Not sure what everyone else calls them. I will post a picture tomorrow.

Thank you very much for the info.

Hope this (Affalterbach AMG Black Series-type gear shift adhesive badge) comes to fruition.

Image below, adhesive badge can be in silver and black/dark grey color (courtesy of mbworld.org):

Alright my brains been spinning a few ideas here. I think the colorful original AMG badge is better suited for a layered foil set-up but I think the shift knob from the black series would look the best in a silver colored plastic or zinc. I will get all of the prices and MOQ's and we can go from there. If I had to guess, the metal might be way out of our reach but the silver colored plastic would have that same look.

Another idea is to make that exact piece. Those pictures aren't the greatest but it appears to be chrome that is laser engraved. I know a guy that has a laser engraver and I could get a price. My only concern with that is how it will hold up. I'm guessing that knob wouldn't look so hot a few years down the road.

Durability is a concern... especially in the SLK. As it is, the stock unit gets VERY hot.

I've been looking for those shift knobs or stickers for so long already.. long enough that I gave up searching and puchased a brabus one.
Wish this idea surfaced few months earlier
