C32 Track Runs

Went to the track last night down in Tucson called SIR. I was excited to see how my newly installed Evosport pulley kit affected my previous times of 14.0xx - 14.2xx at 99.xx - 100.xx. i believe these terrible times can partially be attributed to Arizona's crappy gas (91 octane), terrible heat (though it was 78 last night at the track), and the elevation at the track, which is 3075 ft. Also, this track (the only one in Tucson) is notorious for terrible track prepping and conditions.

Anyway, i ended up only getting two runs in because for some reason, rocket cars running 5.xx and 6.xxx at 250 - 275 showed up and got priority for a long time.

My first run, i ran a 13.702 at 102.50 with a 2.079 60' ft which is my personal best.

Second run was a 13.845 at 102.16 with a 2.126 60' ft.

So overall, with just the Evosport pulley kit added on since then, my 1/4 mile time dropped somewhere between .2-.5 (depending on which runs i compare) and an increase in trap speed in about 2 - 3 mph.

Do you guys think that my slow times can be attributed to the elevation, track conditions, and temps? or do i just have an abnormally slow car?

My roommate has a stage II STI that ran a 13.1 at 105. Pretty sure that the Stage II STIs run mid 12s at least.

On a side note, i met a guy there who had a 300E but swapped in the AMG built 6.0L V8. Said AMG on the motor. Had an AMG boxy looking exhaust and a couple of AMG badges here and there. Looked really clean. He said he had 440 tq and 404 hp i think. Not sure if he had anything done to it. Also not too familiar with their weight. When I lined up with him, I thought it would be a good run. He ended up running a 14.719 at 100.56 and pulled a 2.500 60' ft. Did he fib when he told me those power numbers or do those cars weigh a ton?

Great runs.....

Your corrected time based on track elevation and DA should easily put you in the low 13s and maybe high 12s

elevation is the key for your ETA and trap

Turbo cars don't suffer from the elevation issues as Supercharged or NA engines

those are very good gains just with the pulley kit.

I ran my C32 with that exact same set up for about 2 years.. just had 1 big problem with the water pump pulley. The bearings failed and it cost me about $1k to fix a broken water pump cover and labor.

Evosport has now provided a new design to avoid those types of failures.

I would look into upgrading your IC Pump and a bigger HE.. to make your set up complete.

Well if your first runs were at like 100 degrees and your recent runs were at 78 like you said, that could cause a significant difference in time. I know that at normal elevation you should be running a 13.6 or so stock.

A stock 1988 300E weighs about 3195lbs (3295 in '86, 3265 in '89, 3355 in '90-92) and I know the 500E weighed a whopping 3919lbs. Is he using the motor from the SL60 from 1993-1995? I know that motor put out 381hp and 486lb/ft and that car was extremely rare. Dunno how he could coax another 23 hp out of it either.
