[QUOTE=HLG600;2471485]You can fit 275's on stock C32 wheels? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the stock wheels wear 245mm rubber.
Hey there HLG600:
Yeah, you can put a 275/40/17 on a stock REAR wheel, at 8.5" it is the smallest rim width that the tire manufacturer recomends. Just keep in mind that the tire would roll over too much for raod racing, but it does work just fine for dragin.
See yeah

275's will fit on the stock wheels. The down side is that since the wheel is only 8" wide the contact patch size is smaller than one would expect with such a wide tire.

Slight error, our rims are 8.5" in the rear my friend.
Yes you are right that the tire will be MORE balloned "LESS contact patch" because of it bending around at the rim lip.

I no longer have my SLK55 (no need for these tires or nos). I replaced it with a Cayenne Turbo while looking for a 996 Turbo X50

You are correct about the contact patch for an 8.5" rim, but I can tell you from first hand experience at Nelson ledges road course on my 91 stang with a 275/40/17 on a ROH 8.5" rim, the rears would rolll over SO much that they would rub on the fender ils. THEY NEVER DID THIS ON THE STREET MIND YOU. For drag racing it WOULD NOT make any difference as you and I already said.

Even though the MT's have very stiff sidewalls
