So far my thoughts of the Morse Ceramis front brake pads are good. The install was pretty easy thanks to the many of you who gave the how to instructions...as of today no noticable brake dust at all. I would have dust one day after a wash with the stockers but not with these. As for brake power its very noticable and don't seem to fade like the stockers. The Morse cost like $60 and is offered at local AutoZone...just buy brake cleaner, WD40 and anti brake squeal and your set(brake sensor wire if need be) I was very fortunate and brakes came out top of calipers after removing the two pins with a hammer and a small screw driver. It took about 1 hour total to do both. The MCB came with their own back plates. Will update this thread in a week or two.

guys, keep us posted on this. I really want to see how these hold up (especially if you guys end up tracking the car). I can't stand cleaning out the brake dust from the stock wheels.

They are great...no dust and great stopping power! They endured drag time with ease I definitely buy them again!

I've had mine for over a month and a couple thousand miles now. Still can't believe how there is virtually no dust what so ever! Oh yea, and they stop good too!

Please update after 5-8K miles I have been told that the ceramic pads tend to leave deposits on drilled rotors. The person I was speaking with was using Axxis pads though. I would be curious on these because I have to switch mine out this winter because I can not deal with the brake dust.

I can't remember but aren't the people with the post 2006 C230 sports packages running the same front brakes as us? I just wanted to make sure since we can get a bigger sample size that way.

Also it would be great to see how these hold up to real track duty. The fact they held up well at your drag runs is a good sign.

I been told CF pads are not good on autox type of scenerios the dragstrip only uses the brakes at end of drag so imo not alot of stress on them and not doing always back to back runs but when I did they heldup fine. Its cold and near two months out and they feel like the first day I forget how good they work its like I have to reteach myself everytime. NO BRAKE DUST AT ALL!!! The C230 guys do use them with their brake setup but some upgraded to the C32 brakes as well.

About six months out after install
They still start off with a brake sound but quickly goes away once brakes are applied...I think its the cold weather... but still bite like new.

Did you have to use anti squeal on the pads or just pop the old out and the new in? I cannot stand the brake dust from the OEM pads. Literally have to wipe the rims down after each drive.

I did use anti-squeal and no dust ever the noise started in the very cold weather but only noticable at beginning of drive goes right away after applying brakes..

I used a ceramic pad at the track on my C32 and did not have a problem. I used EBC Red Stuff which is a street-track pad that is ceramic. I currently have EBC Yellow Stuff which is NOT ceramic but is supposedly even better suited to the track. Unfortunately, they may never see the track!

I will do the dragstrip with them but I seriously doubt I will AutoX with them but maybe I might. I have already drag strip once with them and they held up fine.

Just cause you tried Ceramic brakes then I might try these also....they are only front Ceramic since rears are not offered yet any advise about tracking with different type pads from front to rear?

The Morse ceramics are a good pad. They are actually a client of the company I work for, and years ago I was their client rep for us. They make a lot of private label for various aftermarket retailers. but have now begun selling more of their product under their own brand name. The Bendix ceramics are also good, but more expensive per the premium name. Just FYI, if you go into many leading retailers such as; O'Reilly, Advance, AutoZone, Pep Boys, CSK, and Murray's, their private label brake pads (including ceramic) are likely made by Morse, Raybestos, or Satisfied.

I was using Performance Friction pads with Power Slot rotors on my Z28 before selling it, and was very displeased with the stopping power. Dusting wasn't bad, but stopping was mediocre.

EBC, Hawk, and Akebono are growing in popularity and they do make a good specialized performance pad, but you'll pay a premium for it.

Many of the ceramic pads still have dusting problems, but it appears to be more of an application specific problem based on OE rotors, caliper functionality, and vehicle weight.

Glad to hear the good results on the Morse pads. I may have to see if I can get them to send me a "test" set, if I play my cards right...

I will probably never need to buy another set of new pads. I put in the EBC Yellows last year, and then bought the 944, which means the C32 is unlikely to see track use. I already have a full set of Akebono Ceramics for the C32 sitting in a box. Without any track use, I've probably got 5 years worth of brake pad to wear through!

PS: Different pads front-to-back probably will not make a difference in street use. Potentially, one will grab and lock up faster than the other, but ABS will take care of that problem.

MORSE REAR BRAKES 5/12/08
Ok decided to resurrect this thread instead of creating a new one. I bought Morse selected rear brakes for our 2 pin hanger Calipers. They suggested I use CMX603 from the Friction Master product line...they cost me $54 at Advance Auto stores special order. I will try to have them installed by Friday the 16th.

I need new brake pads. I went to Advanced Auto Parts, and they had the Friction Master Brake Pads in stock, so I asked too see them, and written on the brake pad was "MORSE"...

I'll pick them up soon, too much dust on my wheels...

How have your rotors been since you've installed the pads? I just put on the Friction Master's this morning. Purchased at Advanced Auto Parts for $57. I have the C32 brake setup...
