[QUOTE=1FSTAMG;2533663]Friday Rainy roads + some idiot turning into my lane = slip, slide, spin, BANG!

He took off of course. I wasn't able to get a tag number as the airbag exploding in my face blocked my view.

It's at the shop now. I'm just waiting to see if they total it. Suspension on the front right is trashed, so I'm thinking it will be spendy. State Farm is taking care of me though. They have me in a Nissan Armada for the time being.

Good thing I have GAP coverage, just in case they do total it.

Here are some pics:

Sorry to see it happen my friend. Good news is, as others said, your okay. Make SURE to have a police report, as I was a victim of a hit and run at a parking lot. The cop did such a nice job for me, the insurance company waived the $500 deductable. THAT REPORT IS EVERYTHING in a hit and run.

Better days ahead, I hope for you.

See yeah

They will total a car for 2 reasons: Unsafe frame damage or if the repair will cost more than 60-70% of the cars value. Wholesale value is only about $17k-$19k.
Actually, It appears that I had a bit more damage than what I can see from your pics. The dealer had to drop the motor/trans to replace the front apron assembly (holds the shock tower and welded to firewall) and the entire car was gutted including dash and seats aside from the suspension/frame work. The total $ for parts: $9086, Total $ for labor/supplies: $9236 + tax @8.1%
The repairs came within a few thousand dollars of the value of the car, but the unibody "frame" was not significantly damaged at all, and was not written off.
The insurance company should not be assessing the replacement cost based on the wholesale $ for the car, and instead should be doing something like a CMA on the vehicle. For example Farmers Insurance will do a search for the same model vehicle as yours with comparable features at various dealerships within a 50 mile radius to find your replacement $. Well if you own an AMG Mercedes, that search just expanded by a few hundred miles, especially with the C32AMG. Another example, A Friend of mine purchased an 03 C-class two years ago at an auction for 18K. Last year in October it got totaled by driving off the road. He had Not a scratch on his car, the frame go so twisted from the landing and the initial impact from hitting the curb (nearly 12in tall) set off his drivers side curtain air bag and front/rear door air bags on the drivers side. His insurance did the same search and found a handful of them locally for around 24K. Insurance paid him 25K including the registration and taxes. He got lucky and made $ in his case.

State Farm just called to let me know they are sending out an adjuster/estimator. She said that she's 90% sure it will be deemed a total loss but will let me know for sure later this week or early next week. She said she just wanted to give me a heads up so that I can start shopping/preparing to get a new car.

State farm has deemed the car a total loss. They are giving me $24,324.50 for the car. Not bad, considering I only paid $23,000 for it and put 8,000 miles on it since I bought it.

Sad to say, I won't be replacing it with another C32 or even a Benz. Looking to get a 4x4 truck to replace it. Probably a Tacoma or Titan.

What year was your car? I checked the salvage auction in Vegas and your car isn't on the list yet. I'll get you some pictures of it as soon as they are available.
