My dealership "accidentally" ordered my C32 WITHOUT Comand, Rear Sunshade, Merlot Interior, and the Rain Sensor w/ Blue Glass. I was not informed of this until my car was on it's way to the United States, infact all of the confirmation papers of the ordering sheet and whatnot that I recieved had everything I wanted checked off. At the time, I was under the impression that it was only missing Comand and the Merlot interior. The interior was no big deal, because I planned on adding more red to the interior (Door panesl, etc.), so I might aswell still do that and get the seats done aswell. I immediately began researching methods of getting Comand installed at the dealership. My dealer was giving me a hard time about this saying it couldn't be done (Even though numerous people on MBW has done it), probably because they knew I would make them cover the labor fees, which would be in excess of $1300. My car arrived and I went in to check it out on Sunday and to my surprise, it was missing the rain sensor with blue glass aswell as the rear sunshade. They apologized and offered to give me a fairly large discount since I planned to pay upfront for it rather than leasing it. Getting Comand installed is more trouble than it's worth, and I am very PO'ed about not having the rain sensor (I live in Florida, it's it a necessity) and the rear sunshade (I was looking forward to having some fun, Roozy style!) so I did not accept the car. It was extremely beautiful from the exterior, but it really angered me when I sat inside of it without some of the very crucial options that I ordered.

I have ordered another C32 AMG, this time the Sales Manager personally ordered the car for me and I was assured that it will be ordered exactly as I wanted. They do realize that I am a very good customer and they wanted to make right on this, so they're swapping out the 17" AMG Dual Spoke Wheels for 18" wheels aswell as giving me a large discount on the price. The same day we ordered a W211 E320 for my mother, so needless to say we are getting some good discounts on both cars. My C32 is going to be here for a January delivery, they guarenteed this.

I've got to wait another few months, but it's no big deal since I have an S500 to drive in the mean time.

How come your car doesnt have blue glass? The blue glass comes as a package with the rain sensor??? I thought every C32, despite rain sensor or not, come with blue glass???!!! Strange!!

Make sure to give your re-ordered C32 a big hug/kiss when it arrives in Jan and say: "Finally!!!"

I was very disapointed, however a lot of good did come from this (I'll let Ben finish this sentence since i'm unsure if i'm "allowed" to tell anyone or not as of yet).

The blue glass only comes with the rain sensor on the 2003 model year, infact the option itself is called "Rain Sensor With Blue Glass."

I will give it a big hug for you when it arrives .

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. On the bright side you are getting the 18'' Wheels and the big discount. They say that good things come to those who wait and therefore hope you will receive the good C32 in January.

Are you sure that the blue glass comes with the rain sensor wipers? I have a '03 C32 with blue glass, and I am not sure if I have the rain sensors or not.

How do I find out if i have the rain-sensors? Is there a mode on the wiper arm?

the rain sensor has a huge black box behind the center mirror, and u can easily tell by looking from outside of the front windshield

The glass isn't a blue tint, the actual glass is blue.

Without Rain Sensor option on my 2003 C32. MB starting cut cost now? I saw few C320 with sport package has the blue glass too...maybe they have the rain sensor option.

The sport package itself comes with the blue glass, as with other models in the MB line-up. I'm not so sure this is true that it comes with the rain sensor now. To check if you have the rainsensor, look at your windshield wiper stalk, and see if it has an auto setting. If not, then you do not have the option.


John, you are now saying that the car that came in for you did not have blue glass? According to your info, it would not.

Correct Justin, it did not have blue glass because the car did not have the rain sensor.

Even if you live in Nevada where it rarely rains, the rain sensor is still great to get because the blue glass looks so nice.

rain sensor would be a individual option for 2002. The sport pkg for 2002 offers the blue tint glass to go with it.

just read the 2003 brochure. it says "color-keyed monochromatic door handles. Blue-tinted glass. Dual polished stainless-steel exhaust tips." standard.

it doesn't say anything about the rain sensor, but there is always something wrong with MB's brochure

On NetStar at the dealer, there were actually two different rain sensor options with two different option codes. The first was "Rain Sensor" and the option code was 345, the second was "Blue Glass w/ Rain Sensor" and the option code for that was 691. This makes no sense because when you "Build Your Own" C32 on MBUSA.com, there is only one rain sensor option which mentions nothing about blue glass, same for the brochure.

It just baffles me how stupid some of the staff at dealerships are, or atleast mine.

MBUSA can never provide a definite answer on little things like this, I think it's very disorganized on their part. Just like how some of the cars came with the AMG Tech's signatures and some didn't. Back in September when I called to find out if my car was going to have the tech's signature or not, they said the only AMG to have that was the SL55.

i'm guessing that the c32 u ordered came with the natural green glass because the sales messed up with the code, and who ever did the glass thought C32 for the US market will get the natural green glass, and did not double check.

because with or without the rain sensor, the glass for AMG (sedan and coupe) should have come with the blue-tint glass.
