projector, but non-Xeon headlights?

projector, but non-Xenon headlights?
Ok. I realize this maybe a strange question, but does anyone know if you can install projector headlights that are non-Xeon / non-HID?
I just picked up a C32 and love everything about the car, except the headlights. I don't want the Xeons for 2 reasons:
1. cost
2. too bright (if there is such a thing...) for me
However, I hate the frosted look of the standard headlights. I called my local dealer and was told that if i want projector headlights and non-Xeon, I would have to look for something after-market. But all I've found for after market parts is HID projector headlights.
Anyone have thoughts, input, advice they could offer?
Thanks.

I have 2004 c32 (certified pre-owned), yet it doesn't have the clear headlights. The MB dealers I contacted told me they are only clear if you get the Xeon package.
Ok. This may sound really stupid, but what are "depo" headlights and "H7". These are not HID or Xeon I assume. Is that correct? Are they after-market?
Thanks.

XENON*
DEPO housings are the ones in the auction below; DEPO is the company that makes them, I think, though I'm not sure if those are actually DEPO. People usually buy the housings and then pick&choose which kind of HID/Xenon kit they want. You could always get the housings and then pick out a regular white pair of HIDs...

H7 is the type of bulb it uses and they are halogen. Not 100% sure though

Do I have to use the HID lights with this lamp? Or will normal Halogen work in them? Again, i want to stay away from HID / Xenon.
Just a matter of clarification, many people say that HID and Xenon are the same thing. If that's true, simply putting these lamps would not work (if I've read the other forums corretly). They would also need the Retro-fit kit (re-wiring) in order to make sure the correct amperage is delivered to the bulb + the autoleveling system. True / Un-true?

HID and Xenon are essentially the same thing. I think what he meant to say was that you could put in a normal set of Halogen bulbs. The link I posted are Depo housings that use projectors with halogen bulbs.

Just another follow-up...
I found these Bosch projector headlights available. They are projector (clear) but non-Xeon / non-HID - designed to work solely with Halogen bulbs. (Bosch Part Number: W0133-1598857)

And this was a really interesting read too...

You can get the DEPO lights and that uses an H7 bulb and there are many H7 choices out there. The true xenon light uses the D2S xenon bulb and that setup requires the use of a ballast and car programming to eliminate flicker.
Your best bet for your individual needs is the DEPO halogen projector with whatever H7 bulb that you choose.

No, they are not. The clear non-xenon headlight did not come until the '05 model W203.

Here's why I ask. MB of Seattle said they used to do the Xenon retro-fits, but stopped recently when they had problems with 3 cars recently. They said most work, but it is important to keep in mind that the Xenons (when they fire up) draw a large amount of amperage thru the same circuit as the dash HUD (heads-up-display). Apparently this damaged the circuitry for the HUD on a few cars, which the dealer had to eat the cost to repair. Hence they don't do it anymore. And why I don't want to put anything in it that draws too many amps.
---------------------------
On a side note - and perhaps a buyer-beware - I also am trying to put a CD changer in this car. Factory MB 6-disk changer. I got it at dealer cost when I bought my car in Oregon (as part of the negotiations). But, they're service dept was closed, I didn't want to wait to drive the car home to Seattle. So I figured I'd just have a dealer in Seattle area install it. MB of Bellevue WA refused to do it. First, they asked me where I bought my car. I told them Oregon MB dealer. Then they asked me where I got the changer. I told them Oregon MB dealer. Conclusion - Because I did not buy the car from them, or the part, they will install it for me. They claimed that if the part is defective they don't want to be responsible. But its from an MB dealer!?!?!?! So what's the REAL REASON? - They want the profit on the mark-up costs of their parts. And yep, I'm going to write to MBUSA about this dealer too. I hope their license is pulled.
Also, the CD changer mounting bracket at MB Bellevue costs $72 ... at MB Seattle its just $24.75)

An H7 is a standard halogen bulb. It is just one of many shapes and sizes of a halogen bulb. Look at an H7 as nothing more than a standard halogen.
