2003 EVO 8 612whp(sold) 2005 c55 amg R35 GTR
Hello
Greetings... New to the site.
About me. Big car nut, love working on them, love racing them and anything to do with them. Looking to setup to a more luxurious car but still needs to have some kick. I will be selling my fully built evolution 8 ( just had a kid)
In the market for a c55 AMG or a new ISF lexus.
What are the difference between a 2005 and 2006 c55?
How good is the factory navi? Does it have bluetooth?
looking for red or white under 20k miles are they hard to find?
Thanks

2005 C55 AMG
I just purchased my '05 C55. I don't believe there are any distinguishable differences between the '05 and '06, other than the '06 carrying a higher price tag. I searched for two months before making my purchase. I too wanted a lower mileage car but they come w/ a higher price. I was able to get a full 3yr/45k service extended warranty for mine, so the 51k on the car didn't bother me in the end. It still felt as tight as the day it was made. The majority seem to be selling in the 25-35k mileage range, but as mentioned I would not let the higher mileage scare you away from one if you can get the extended warranty. The quality and reliability seems to be high enough (especially on the motor), that if you can find a 1-owner mid-mileage car you'd be doing just fine.
In all my searching, silver was certainly the prominent color. I only found one white C55 in the two months, and it was on ebay. Quite a few black, but never ran across a red one, which I believe to be the most rare color on this car. There were actually 10 color choices, but that includes two versions of black, and two versions of silver, gray, red, white, and blue. I ended up w/ the dark metallic blue (capri), and it seems to be less common than the silver and black.
I only found one that had blu tooth as an aftermarket installed upgrade. They do come w/ phone capabilities by buying an adapter for your phone and then using the keypad on the dash and/or steering wheel to operate your phone. I have not yet looked into hooking any of that up though.
The car is an absolute pleasure to drive, and the best bang for the buck in this class of car vs. performance, in my opinion.
Resources for searching. www.ebay.com, www.cars.com, www.autotrader.com I actually found mine via cars.com but it just so happened to be in the city where I live. Good coincidence.

Funny you mention that, as I just tested mine today for MP3 capability, and was sadly surprised to learn it won't play them. I had read somewhere that it had MP3 capability, but I was curious why it wouldn't say it on the player if it did. And I'm assuming the reason it doesn't say it, is because it doesn't play it. Oh well, there are worse problems to have. With the 6 disc changer easily accessible it's not such a big deal though.
Maybe the MP3 capability mentioned was via the auxiliary input jack in the glove box that you can hook an external player device to...? But I've also read it requires a special cable from the dealership to make this work.
As for the NAVI, it's not the prettiest or easiest system to work with, but overall it seems to get the job done. It certainly beats the small external systems like Garmin, etc, in which you have to try and read a 2" to 3" screen. I've only played w/ the Navi system a little bit, and it does have some neat features once you figure it out.

Red '05 C55
There's a red 2005 C55 on sale in Philly. Check it out on Autotrader...
$36500 with 27K miles. Hopefully this link will work--if not just type in 19106 as your ZIP and do a 25 mile search.

Here's the white one on ebay I was watching. It's pristine, and part of a "no reserve" auction so I would imagine the price will shoot up in the last few minutes of the auction. If you are really interested I'd use some sort of e-sniping service to shoot a bid at the last second.

I have an 02 C32 with Comand Nav and in the glove box there is an aux plug which can be used to play mp3s or ipods...

Buy an Argos Bluettoth kit $850 and install yourself free.....dedicated BT that works with most/all phones and uses the steering wheel controls and if you have Comand you can do voice activated calls too.

Wecome and good luck in your searches. Mercedes is a great crowd to be in. Trust me, having owned 2 Evo's and spending countless hours dealing with the children on EvoM, the mercedes community is like growing up lol Cheers

My car has Comand Nav and I place calls by hitting the voice activating handle behind steering wheel on rightside of steering wheel. I just say the number and say dial number and it does it and mine is a year old Argos bluetooth kit.
P.S. If you mean "Comand Most" I never heard of that....Only "Comand"

2004 down have D2B and 2005 up have MOST. You can have MOST without having COMAND.
Also, he's talking about C55's not C32's so your experience with Eurocarphone is different with the C32 than with a C55.
