Thanks to all members of this section who have recommended this tire over the years. Just put my first set of them on and they are fantastic.
Great grip, surprisingly good wet traction for the aggressive tread and more affordable than PS2s.

Had these on my Saab 9-3 Stg 3. Absolutely loved them. The tires that came on my C32 were bald and I'm shopping for these right now myself. Turns out Sears is having a sale on these right now too for $196 (in 245/40/r17). Only $3 more than tirerack and no shipping.

I've got these on my list as the next tires to try. I'm on my second set of Pilot Sport A/S's but I hear the goodyears do almost everything better (dry/wet traction, treadwear, etc.). The stock PS1's lasted like 10k miles at the most, then we got about 25k off the first set of A/S's.

Oh well enough said BUY THEM
See yeah

PS: If longevity is not an issue, I recently bought the Brigestones 050 PP's and WOW what a tire, I just don't expect them to last very long with a 140 TW. Better then the GSD3's EXCEPT in the rain.

I had non runflat GS-D3's on my Corvette C5. Awesome tires. Plan on replacing the Toyo's that are currently on my C55 with these.

Well, about 2 years later and the tires are pretty much worn out. I still think very highly of them and expected about this much of a lifespan.
One great bonus is how the tires seem to protect the rims from curb rash much better than the previous Michelins. Not sure how this can be - am I imagining it?!
Anyway, tempted to just get the same exact tire, even though pricey and now harder to find (seems like Sears still has them, but Discount/America's Tire no longer does).
Any other recommendations of a tire with very similar qualities but perhaps cheaper or longer lasting?
Any opinions, for example, on these Yokohamas?

Also what size were they? 225/x/17?
I had the GS-D3 (265/30/19) and the rears only lasted me 13k miles w/out really any spirited driving. But I never had any problems with them. They only got a bit loud once somewhat worn down.
I still have the fronts, but replaced the rears with the General Exclaim (second pair now) and could not be more happy as to feel, wear and price. Also, they remain quiet throughout their whole life.
But I do agree that the Goodyears added lip protector is great. You are not just imagining it

white and whiter
i recently replace my PZero with Sumitomo HTR ZIII on the w204 for its rear tires. so far so good. from review they're rated highly by tirerack against the RE050, Contisport3, and ADVAN Sport.
my GS-D3 lasted me 20k miles until they're completely bald. have since tried hankook k104, PS2, and now Toyo T1R on the W203.
the S.drive I've heard good reviews on it, but I think the HTR ZIII is going to perform better due to it's higher classification and you can't go wrong with the cheaper price tag.
tirerack is still a lot cheaper btw

Another great summer tire that's relatively cheap is the Nexen N3000. When I was shopping tires, there weren't a lot of valid options in the 255/40/18 range and I refuse to own runflats again, ever!

Ok, you guys will not be too impressed, but I bought the same exact tires again! Unoriginal I guess (and they are kind of pricey), but I love the F1's performance and that rim protector is great too.
Here's to another whopping 15k miles!![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

All of these tires stink. The s drives are utter garbage btw. I only run the re11r's, z stars or AD08's. Too bad tirerack doesn't have updated specs on the three for their actual rating other than their testing with graphs which are good but highly subjective.
