If your 2005 C55 came equiped with bixenons, the factory HID headlight temperature is 4300K. You can upgrade your HID headlight bulbs to 6000K (white-blue color) or 8000K (blue-white color). You can also upgrade your foglights by replacing the stock ones with an HID kit.

Hit up Ed aka Blue_Monster on this forum for more info.

Here are pictures of the 6000K HID headlights and foglights on my C55.

a land yacht.
What kind of bulbs are you guys running when you change to 6000k?

I've tried a few different sets of bulbs off eBay and they all seem to work fine, but occasionally flicker at night.

Its not the ballasts or anything, because the stock bulbs work fine its only when the 6000k ones are in.

Any ideas? Or better bulbs to run that won't do this? I haven't had any problems with the bulbs on my C32 or E55, but this is a 2005 C55 with OEM xenon that's having this issue.

The wattage of the bulb might be higher thus causing the ballast to over heat. I would start by checking the watts on the 6000k bulbs vs the stock.
