You could ask for a VMI and see what if anything major had been done so far. The only negotiating point I can think of with those miles would be the tires - which don't last very long, and get a fresh alignment. Check the seat heaters to see if the bottom cushion AND back get warm on both front seats. I've seen the following on mine since 14K miles: seat heater, front suspension bushing crack, power steering res leak - all warranty stuff. Its a great machine, good luck.

is it rare for the C55s to have HIDs? im guessing its costly to get the OEM stuck back into the original housings... sighs i really like HIDS
the car is a 06 nav w/ 12k miles asking 38k

I agree that the price seems about right. I just picked up an '06 with 6K miles from another member and paid 42K. I think I paid on the high end, but I was glad to since I was confident I was getting a car that was very well cared for (thanks AMGNUT).
Hurry up and take delivery--you won't regret it.

I owned C55 for about 1.5 years and it was trouble free (well, except some little but annoying rattles on driver's seat belt's plastic cover and software issues on the NAV).
Engine is bulletproof.... transmission is bulletproof also. I wouldn't be scared owning this car w/o warranty (I also owned W210 E55 w/o warranty for 2-3 years).
Maintenance is typical benz. I went through Service A once and service B once. Service A is just a simple oil change... I think it cost around $150-250. Service B is a little major... but still cost around $400-500. Even though the car only needs service once a year or 10K miles, I changed my oil in between the FSS (6 months - I didn't hit the miles). May be excessive... but doesn't hurt spending extra $100 to change the oil yourself.
Lighting package to me is a must.... I can't believe it's hard to find one w/ lighting package.
Good luck on your search. I absolutely miss my C55

You can get aftermarket Depo clear headlight housings with HID kit and it looks the same but true HID will have much better lighting effect...or you can order a set of OEM from MBenZL in Canada...that way you can get the adaptive cornering ones...

Weird, I found one as soon as I looked. There are several currently listed here in Houston. Where are you looking? Try www.cars.com or www.autotrader.com, and there was also one listed on www.craigslist.com last week. There is a place in Stafford that seems to get them fairly often too. Can't remember the name for sure --- something like Global Motorcars or similar.
Try the above listed sites and use the geographic tools to narrow your search to Houston and Dallas areas. I guarantee you'll find some.

I have a question on the phone package... one particular car i am looking at states that is has it but I cant for the life of me figure out what that is. I'm moderately sure that its not bluetooth but would like some confirmation? I'm guessing there is a cradle in the car, and that i'd have to buy a bluetooth puck (via search ~$400) or some sort to be able to use it with any of my bluetooth phones? the car i'm looking at even has sirius!
Lastly would I able to use the phone buttons on the COMAND /send/end/phonebook/CID etc? I searched all this through C class but still confused since there is some aftermarket alternative but it doesnt seem to support the newer C classes...

AFAIK, no....
High-beam bulb is still halogen.
Bi-xenon means there is a shutter to adjust the low-beam - making it higher if you don't turn on high-beam and making it lower if you turn on the high-beam.
To me, the name "bi-xenon" is only a marketing ploy.
