Instead of my wipers returning to the off position(down) they stop about in the middle of my windshield, They do everything else like they should but when I turn them off they stop in the middle of the windshield. Anyone had this problem???

That only happens to me when I leave the wiper switch on and turn the car off. Other than that they return to the seated position when the switch is turned off.
I wish that was the deal but they return to the middle of the windshield every time they turn off. I will probably monkey with it tommorow. It can't be as much fun as changing the spark plugs though!!

Could be several issues - most likely electrical. I had the same problem with my last car (BMW). It was the wiper relay. All it needed was a new one.Originally Posted by c3232c

I would try the following first-
Disconnect the battery to 'hard reset' the electrical components. It may be a glitch that the reset cures.
Check the relay or the associated fuse.
I disconnected the battery and no luck there. I may try a relay if they are not too expensive. I just need to find out which one it is. I will have access to Mitchell on demand this coming week and hopefully it will have the location of the relay. I am not a big fan of the dealership in general but may have to bite the bullet and take it there.

I have a maintenance DVD that I will check this evening if nobody chimes in beforehand. The relay will probably be fairly expensive through the dealer. In any case, if it turns out to be a bad relay / fuse, you can try hitting up 'mancic32' for used ones. He's a member on this forum and is parting out a C32. He may be able to sell you what you need for much less since it's used.Originally Posted by c3232c

Thanks! I have a feeling it's doing this because the motor is taking a dump and this is something put in place to kinda give you an early warning so you head to the dealer and get it fixed. Everybody probably thinks I am trying to pull a ricer move and have the blades kicked up on the windshield, Now I just need to paint them yellow

Here's some info I found on the DVD. Upon reading, I guess it's equally likely that the fault could be the cam switch on the motor itself - that controls the positioning. Check out these relays (N10/1kL and N10/1kQ) and also check the wiper motor connector to the front SAM control unit.Originally Posted by c3232c

As I was saying - you might want to preemptively hit up mancic32 for some parts while he is tearing that '04 C32 apart.

that is what this site is all about...people helping people!

I just replaced the wiper motor this afternoon and it took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. It's actually pretty easy. Boohooramblers gave me some great information that pointed towards the wiper motor. I guess if anyone has the problem of the wipers stopping in the middle of the windshield they will know where to go. Now I can't wait for my Renntech pulley kit to get here and slap that on
