C55 wiper blades and fog lamps. (yes, again...)

I posted this over in the tech forum, where it says that MB Techs will answer questions. I didn't get any from them. So, I'll try here in my home forum. I do realize the fog lamp questions have been thrown around before, but I've not seen any viable solutions yet as to part numbers and non-dealer replacements. Same with the wiper blade question.

I am struggling to find replacement Fog Lamps for my '05 C55. The dealer wants $171 each for the assembly, and I know they are just Hella assemblies that I should be able to buy directly from Hella or a distributor for less. I'll do my own installation.
Q1: Do any of you know the correct part number for the assembly?

Q2: Is there a replacement for just the lens itself?
Q3: Where can I get the 3M protective lens covering once I replace them, in order to help avoid breaking again?

Q4: I need to replace my wiper blades. I've spoken w/ my contact at Bosch today and he says our C55's use the Bosch Aerotwin blades as opposed to the Bosch Icons. I'd just like verification from someone who has actually bought/replaced blades on their C55, and what brand you actually used. Advance Auto Parts lists a set of the Aerotwins for $65, but I just cannot imagine there not being other options.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

i'm with jason on this one since i'm having the same issues. seems silly i have to buy a whole new foglight when just the lense itself is broken. i ventured into the w203 section and it seems some people like going the ebay route for aftermarket alternative....around 150 for a set.

A1: your dealership parts should have the right part number. just ask them again. and source it else where. oempartsdirect maybe, but heard they closed down.

A2: don't think they sell it seperate
A3: stickercity should have the protective films
A4: Aero blades are not the ICON blades. You will need and can only use the Aerotwin. Same blade design, but mounting point is different. ICON is made for cars with the traditional mount. Only $23 per wiper for Bosch ICON. You guys are pretty much owned when it comes to wipers.

Thanks Frank! I appreciate your clear answers. It appears I'll just have to special order the wipers since none of our local parts retailers keep them in stock. Bosch is a client of my company, and I was hoping when I asked them for input they would just say "I'll ship you a set", as many of our clients often do, but this time he just told me to have Advance order me a set. Looks like $65 is what it's gonna' cost to see in the rain.

As for the fog lamps, it looks like I'm going to just have to pull the assemblies and get the numbers off them. I was just hoping to do it all at once, instead of pulling, ordering, waiting, and then installing.

Thanks again for the help!

let us know what you find out I had my wife's C55 fog lamp broken for months because I find it crazy to pay the $210 per lamp at the stealership.

MB calls it a Tell-Tale lamp, PN 230-820-05-56.Looks like the Hella part number is 1NO 008 582-00. The lens appears to be epoxied, and will not come off. My invoice was for $127, so it doesnt sound like the parts guys at your local dealer are doing you any favors. sorry, cant help with your blades..

you can order MB wipers from www.performanceproducts4benz.com - I did when my C32 blades needed to be replaced. They weren't cheap, but they were less than what it'd cost to get 'em from my dealer's parts dept.

Looks like they're $21 per blade:

Mike, THANK YOU!!! This is exactly the information I've been looking for. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. It's been driving me nuts seeing the light busted out and having everyone ask me; "do you know you're light is broken...?" Now I can get 'em fixed at a reasonable rate.

Where did you purchase your replacements?

Thanks again,
J

Thanks for your input too. I actually already ordered the Bosch Aerotwin blade set for mine, which cost me $75 total at Advance Auto Parts. Since they were special order I'm stuck with 'em.
However, this website you provided is fantastic! I will likely use them for many other MB items. I'm not sure why they never showed up when I did online searches for MB parts suppliers. They obviously need to pay for some keyword affiliation w/ their site so Google will direct people to it.

Thanks again for the great info.

OEM part from MB in Princeton, NJ. I did parts for International for nine years or so, so i know a decent amount of parts ppl. You might not get it for the exact same price, but for it to be in the $200 range is ridiculous. Mine has been cracked for roughly three months, with the part sitting on my desk at work. ill probably wait until the bulb fails to change it, strictly on principle..lol. i actually have really been wanting to do yellow HIDs in the stock lenses so...

for the wiperblades try buymbparts (sorry not too sure of the website off the top of my head at work ) I got a set with an oil filter $50+- with shipping. The wipers are from Valeo but work great. Not trying to plug a site just for $75 bucks you can do better.

possibility. if i saw a set in person, i might be ok with them. i just dont wanna spend the money on them, possibly not like them, and then spend more on HIDs that i wanted in the first place.
