Amazing how you can go to three dealerships with the same part number and get three different quotes on the same part/piece.

I actually laughed when I saw one of the items on their computer screen with a cost of $1.10 and a list of $1.80 -- a fair 38% margin. The woman quotes me $4.28 for the piddly part (75% margin). I laugh at her and ask here what the 'cost' column and 'list' column meant on the screen that I saw in a the mirror off to her side. Funny to see the look on her face when I asked her the questions and replies -- 'oh, that's not accurate and it's not our cost, it's much higher than that'. Their parts department is their second cash cow right after the serive department.

Same at BMW. Parts dept at Beverly Hills is daylight robbery. $20 for a quart of gas, no thanks.

03 g35 coupe...........02 c32 Sold
its a stealership, what do you expect? especially since its a mercedes dealership, there even less of them around. all dealership's have 50-100% mark ups. Most dealerships mark things up by huge margains because usually when people buy the part, its financed over 5yrs so it only adds like $5 per month or its covered by insurance because they got in a accident.

Usually you can just say one dealership is offering at this price, can you beat it. Most dealerships will match it.

..Or find the part on the Internet and ask the dealer if they price match. I've done that at Nissan for years and they'll usually do it...especially if you're willing to walk. Had one parts guy stop me on my way out and sell me the parts at the Internet price after he quoted me the dealers price and I said "Thanks for the pirces and have a nice day".
