E55 or 63 exhaust on C55?

Has anyone done this yet and if so what the entire cost came out to or what you would project it to be including the body work on the bumper to get it to fit.

I've been contemplating it for a couple of weeks just because i love the look of the bigger tips. haha

I don't think it will work. Not only that you have to work on the bumper but the area that the muffler its self is in will be extremely tight b/c of the spare tire comparment takes up a lot of space under there. Look under the car and you will see what i mean. Btw if its for performance dont waste your money.

Why not go with aftermarket exhausts? Sounds better and much cheaper, plus you don't need to do any body work to make it fit.

Ehh.. Why waste money + time? They are not very special... I don't think it will help the car to go faster..

The diameter of the E55 tips is too big to fit the C32 bumper, at least you need to cut the bumper openings larger for the exhaust tips both sides.

The E55 muffler seems a bit too big for it to fit under the rear left, not to mention the one on the right side.

Went through a number of threads with a member fitting a C55 exhaust in a C32, and its quite a lot of work. If the E55 muffler could fit, its just a matter of pipping and hanging clamps.

hey cnchung,

by your post, I'm not sure if you realized this individual already has the C55 quad exhaust, since the OP has a C55.

to OP, I agree w/ most others above - you're talking quite a bit of money and effort for likely almost zero gain, performance OR cosmetic. IMHO, stick w/ stock, or go with a reputable aftermarket exhaust if you're looking for a different tone and/or tip design.

I changed my C32 exhaust for the Quad C55 system mainly for looks ,

in your case you already have a quad exhaust so visually even with bigger tips its not going to make much of a difference,
+ I don't think it will work anyway, the recesses in the spare wheel tub on the C55 are an odd shape and the rear mufflers are kind of triangle shaped to make them fit ,so trying to get anything else in there is going to be hard work.

going for a custom set up could be an option but beware,
I went with this way first and regretted it, the sound was nothing like i'd hoped for .... much too loud and booming and even after returning to have it altered I still couldn't live with it so ended up having to revert back to a proper amg system,

I now have the look I'd hoped for and it sounds great, much better than my stock C32 system did even with the resonator removed, but this little project cost me the best part of £3000/$6000 and despite the fact that I really like the way it turned out , It's hard to justify the expense

hope this helps
