Need parts for header swap

Anyone know where I can find crush washers, nuts and bolts, and header gaskets? Im replacing the headers soon and the hardware is rusted and is going to need replacing. I basically need all expendable hardware from the gaskets thru to the Y-pipe. Thanks

Its all been ordered today. Quick question to forum. When installing the headers does the engine need to be lifted out or can the headers be R&R'd in place?

AFAIK, the motor doesn't have to be pulled for Evosport header installation

Thanks,
I cant find a DIY on the header install anywhere. I know its tight and I know its a few bolts and a few headaches. Removing the exhaust etc. Any places I can look?

Hey there mdncn2762,

I'd check with Jerry or Erick from LET for any DIY instructions. I've been discussing this w/ Jerry recently as well - everyone who's done it says it's about a 5 hour job; however, my understanding is that the engine does NOT need to be lifted when changing the headers on the C32. The SLK32 is a different story, IIRC.

Good luck w/ your install!

Did you get them installed yet? They should put you solidly in the 12’s.

My LET headers have been doing their duty for the past two weeks. I couldn’t be more pleased with their performance or the upstanding gentlemen behind them. They perform admirably. The OE manifolds are truly the bottleneck in our otherwise solid exhaust system.

Please keep us updated on your already stout machine.

I just installed the H/E, Behr Rad, and Johnson pump. Received the header hardware (gaskets and stuff) and hopefully will install next week. But now, since someone hit my car, I will probably have to wait.

No can do on the headers right now until I get the car to Germany. Damn. I have all the parts sitting right here. Its going to cost me $2,000 to ship the car. On top of that I have to pay a $500 deductable for the wreck I was in which is refundable. Anyhoot Im shipping both the C230 and C32 to Germany. The good ol Army only pays to ship one car. I have to pay for the other. Autobahn here I come. More to follow.

They’ll just have to be something to look forward to with anticipation. You’ll like ‘em! Kinda nice the Brass is sending you to the fatherland. There are worse places to be stationed.

Most importantly, thank you for your service. Stay safe and keep in touch.

We will expect a full report on your Autobahn adventures…security clearance permitting.

Installing the headers

Tomorrow 29 Jul 08 I will be installing the headers. The wifes crazy uncle is doing it....for free. He is a Meister so hopefully no problems. These are Evosport headers I bought used from Jerry not LET headers, which I wish I had. Anyway wish me luck. Any tips for install?
Thanks

HeeeeeeLP!!!!!
I have an exhaust leak after installing the Evosport headers. I believe its coming from the passenger side downpipe where the headers connect to the exhaust pipe in front of the first set of cats. Ive replaced the header gaskets twice on this side so I am ruling that out. I can smell exhaust from the top of the engine bay on this side only....plus it makes the famous exhaust leak sound. I blocked the exhaust tips with rags but didnt notice any evidence of where the leak was coming from. Shouldnt there be a gasket in-between the downpipe and exhaust piping? The piping in this area doesnt seem to match up very well with the headers with only about 2 MM of seal between the two. Any suggestion?

Does anybody know if the parts listed in post #4 are in fact all the (correct) parts I need for a header swap. I ordered and received them and just wanted to make sure before I give it to the installer.
