Here is my 2 cents for what is worth...(from working at CBOT)

Visa ipo will be very big....and will do very well based on what mastercard did. The problem will be getting in on it for a decent price.

Take this example.....if it ipo's at 50....

First trade will put it around 75 when it first comes out (when the average joe can buy it)

So, big wigs will aready have a possible 25 dollar gain on it. I assume if its anything like the others, will go up and down quite a big in the first day or 2, then drop, and slowly gain over the year.

Good quick sell if you get in in time, and good purchase once the first of the people sell for profit taking and the price drops.

but once again....just my 2 cents....todays market anything is possible

Jerry:

My day trading pals, say wait atleast a month, for stabilization. If you don't, the ups and downs could kill you, IMHO.
A side note, they all like the company, but right now there is ALOT of risk.

Good luck my friend.

See yeah

I'm thinking about having some funds available for this one. Getting it at the IPO price will be tough unless you have an inside track. When is it going public, anyone hear yet?

+1

From the article

"Large IPOs -- and this will be the biggest ever in the U.S. -- typically don't rocket higher the moment they start trading. So investors won't need an exclusive brokerage account to get a deal on shares ahead of time, as with most IPOs. They can buy after it begins trading. "

financial trouble

Visa going public right now is somewhat of a sign of times to come. The wave of defaults started in the MOrtgage Arena, then will head over to credit cards and then to car loans.

I think visa is trying get in at the right time before the tsunami hits

Remember Visa is the brand +.

The banks are the one that are carrying the credit risks.
