Thank you.
I wish I could be more specific but I do not know all the details. When I bought a used one we just swapped pumpkins and had to swap the axles as well.

My car was a July 2001 built C32 and the rearend was swapped with a 2003 model C32.

there is an axle change from 2002 to 2003, the 2002 is much easier and cheaper to install than the 2003 and newer...

Erick, What are the issues I'm facing installing the Quaife in my 2003, build date August 2002?

look under the rear of your car and PM me with the details...you should have 6 bolts attaching your rear axle to the rear differential...if not, we can discuss the details...thanks!

Easier and cheaper is relative in the 2002 models, since many of them will end up with diff fluid leakage if they don't upgrade to 2003+ axles.

Is 2003+ axle the "push-in type as opposed to 2002 which is the bolt on axle?
What about flange/no flange? What issue that brings to the table?

I'm probably going to pull the trigger tomorrow on the LSD. I'm waiting on Vadim for an install quote since this is definitely not a DIY type of thing. I'm assuming that both Evosport and Vadim are going to be good choices for the install. right?

Is the jury still out on the AMS crank pulley? I read alot of threads that seemed to be relatively positive, but I'm still not sure it is worth spending $$ on.

I'll update this thread with the invoice number once I place my order...

(UPDATE: ORDER #295. Install to be done by Vadim. Thanks all)

Vadim and Evosport can both do the LSD.

The current Quafie differential used for C32s is designed to be used with push in axles, which have a circular retaining clip.

Bolt on axles, bolts holding the axle to the axle flange, will not work with out some modifications, because the axle flange use a C- retain clip.

It still burns me up that MB didn't put one on the car from the factory. WTF were they thinking?
+1. I'd go as far as to say it's the best mod I've done on ANY car. I canceled my C63 order because there's no LSD in it. I'm waiting for MY09 when they'll offer one.

This should be everyone's mod 1.

+1. This is the root of the fluid leakage problem to which I was referring. My car would not accept the bolt-on axles, and the stock C-clip did NOT fit the Quaife LSD. You could end up needing a custom clip, or live with a small amount of Redline leaking out when you take certain corners. For this reason, anyone who owns a 2002 car who is doing the Quaife LSD install should get detailed information before embarking on the job. I'm not the installer so I don't recall all of the details, but the people who did mine are very knowledgeable and would probably be happy to discuss it. You can find them at Michigan's authorized Kleemann installer, Motorwerks Group (http://www.motorwerksgroup.com) - (248) 668-6793. They'll remember my car because it had the same license plate as my username.

Nope, at least not on other torsen-type diffs. I've had a Detroit Trutrac in the front of a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Salisbury (I think) in the rear of a Maserati Spyder and neither one made any noise.

I was considering the Quaife a couple of years ago & "talked" to a couple guys (C55x2) on this forum and another (as well as an E55 owner). All said the Quaife LSD made no noise & worked flawlessly (no binding) ... a "never regret it" mod that transformed the enjoyment factor of the car!

As always I will wait until the absolute last minute & order mine tomorrow.

Please post your times again after you install and go back to track...I think with the right drag tires or slicks you may be a high 11 car or a 12 flat with that Quaife and your mods...

Anybody who is still thinking about getting the Quaife should get one. I need to sell mine because the C32 diff swap didn't work out on my C320. It's been months of torture trying to work out a gear ratio solution to no avail.

FS: New C32 Diff with Quaife installed and new axles.
